My other half has been using my skyline this week, cus he left his keys out at work (works 2 hours inland)...

Him and his mates bought some air horns, the type you use with that gas stuff..

He left them in the car, in which the car sits outside in the sun all day. Next thing he hears this huge BANG!

Due to the amount of heat, the cans blew up inside the car, and smashed one of my windows.

I dunno what the window is called - but now i need a new one!!!! So anyone that would have one, im keen to buy! It's a R33.

So guys, please don't leave aeresols, or even alcoholic cans rolling around your car. I've learnt it before with alcohol, as someone left a can of jim beam inside, and it exploded.

Took forever to clean!

Cheers Karina

Im making him pay for it.

He's been a bit unlucky lately. He put up one of those shade things, which were held down by 1 brick on each corner.. the strong winds flung is off his r32, and when it landed all the poles scratched each panel, + his brand new if a month old front bar. Did it a couple times..

*sigh*

ahh yes

karina phone or email niswreck and get a price on one off them, dont think it will be cheap but

its not something you see floating around here that often but u might be lucky

no u cant steal mine :(

good luck with it. Let me know how u go

Did you have factory UV glass? If you did then it could be very hard but it looks like you don't from the pics...call some glass repairers and see how much the rear quarter glass panels cost...

New windscreen (front) was $250 on my R33, at least it wasn't the rear window (with the demister) :P

Had the same thing happen to a can of deoderant in my girlfriends car, it was sitting on a CD at the time and the CD got blown into about 40 peices, was pretty funny. Other than that, no mess, apart from the car smelling like Lynx :P Must have been one hell of an explosion on yours, lucky no one was inside! :)

Damn, expensive lessons....nothing to do with luck though. Heatstroke affected decision making maybe.

Good thing it wasn't whipped cream or cheez whiz, now that would have made a mess.

A clip across the ear is required I think.

Jeeeezzz, i have one of those tyre sealant and inflator cans.........can only imagine what that would do to my interior.

please dont use that on the 34 gtr johnny....

i keep one of those tiny deoderant cans in my centre bin... no probs as of yet :D

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
