if a major provider offered a higher octane at at least most of it's servo's i'd get my gtr tuned for it now. only reason i never got it tuned for the 100 octane stuff shell was selling is because only a few servo's did it. nearest one to me being a 20minute drive

I would just stick to 98.

I believe the cars which are imported from Japan get a tune to our AUS fuel...

That 100 Octane did not make much of a difference in some cars unless it was tuned for it.

Hi all,

I have a 33 s1 and i only use 98 octane

95 is dirt for any jap car (pings+++) and from what i gathered from using ethonol blended fuels...........well..................i stalled when i was going around a corner, lost power stearing and it was very interesting from then onwards!!

I have been using BP fuel only and it has worked a treat so far. I think with fuel its simple...............what you pay for is what you get, its that simple.

Regards, Evan

tune is dependant on your tuner :P

other than that i just need datalogit now :P

I'm seriosuly looking at it now. I'm just a tad worried about my fuel system. 800 CC injectors and a Nismo intank pump enough to supply 400 + KW at the treads on E85?

couldn't say... but i'd say it'll be aight

what's you max injector duty cycle?

guilt toy has been doing a bit of testing and he recons my 555's should see me to 300rwkw

Ohh... 87-88%. Hmmm thinking about it i dont think i have the fuel system to handle it. DAMMIT!

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
