Don't bother Hamish; As if suspension and tyres are important for drags. This kid knows it all man, he has driven a Ferarri, so he must be a race car driver!! WOW I just want his signature, he's sooooo cool!

Pffft...

You bring that Ferarri and a $1000 to the next Calder meet and we see who walks away with 2g's, but make sure you know how to drive, wouldn't want to damage the walls at Calder and delay other competitors from racing ;)

LOL, So your a drag racer and you don't think tyres and suspension set up make a difference at the track.

If you are such an experienced racer why are you asking us how you should be modifying your car?

Surely you would have more idea than all of us.

After all you have driven a Ferrari. :)

G33K F41L

If i was a G33K i would know how to use the ipod properly and it wouldn't have occurred.

think about it..............................................................................

.................................................................................

............................................. :D

are you f**king serious... you go to the drags and tyres dont make a difference...

ok so a 12 second run with 1 second of wheelspin = 13 second run yes?

12 second run with 0 seconds of wheelspin = 12 second run yes?

do the f**king maths...

not to mention ther are a heap of cars round sau that will smack down ferarri's.

Boom! exactly you can have as much power as you want but if its not getting to the ground not point!!

i go to calder park and i only do drags. :S and i dont corner @ high speed. and just cos im p plater doesnt mean i cant handle a pissy turbo, my mates non turbo xr6 is faster than my turbo.. turbo aint much difference, just a nice dose.. power wise its jackall to me.. i've driven a ferrrari.. thats real power. and i cant drive that. but turbo? please you guys make it sound like its the craziest shizz ever

u r what i like to call the dumb population in our society, ur asking people who really know skylines about what to do to ur car and when they tell u make it handle good u go on about some dumb flamin mongrel in an xr6, and a turbo is abig f**king difference have u ever driven an na skyline.

u asked for advice and it was given dont question it bro we have all been there before u!!!

thems fighting words.

this guy is a douche, he posts so much crap... search him :D

Geez, dont you guys know anything??? ofc tyres dont make a difference, thats why all drag cars have really thin tyres at the front ^^.

And suspension is not the be all and end all, you just need to weld a rod from the axle to the strut, therefore you will have a better weight reduction because you also dont need a strut brace.

And if your real hardcore you can always take out 2nd and 4th gears from the gear set, because if you flatline it in first and then go straight to third and then fifth you will be faster because there are less gear changes and also you will lose about 5-10 kg for better aerodynamics.

So, That proves that tyres and suspension are not important and that with some weight reduction you can have an excellent drag car.

Deductive reasoning... got to love it!!!!

:P

This is one of the sad moments in my life(unfortunately for the clueless thread starter) that i realise that this dude is probably goin to kill himself in a car crash because he has no idea or respect for cars.

sorry buddy, but unless you really are that stupid, dont you think that maybe the victorian government made the law to stop you driving these types of cars for a reason???????

and dont think your the ducks nuts coz you say you driven a ferrari. your on your P's, you obviously have no driving ability.

Having a high powered vehicle means shit on your p's u dumb gook.. after an hour i get used to the power .. felt like driving my old car again.. why dont you go bum the government up the bum ay? oh sorry for not knowing everything about cars when i was 18. you klowns are so hardcore for knowing it all. clap clap- have a star u dum sht

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
