I begged :) ........but they spend 9 hrs on each and with Friday

and Monday being a holiday....and having a few to do and only

so many allowed to work on them. :down:

They say they just wanna do it right.....and so far it all looks sweet. :sick:

Probably all sick of seeing R35's by now but here's mine anyway :yes:

Nice man, gun metal grey looks sweet. Can't wait to see some of these new R35's on the road only see one color so far in real life.

Well boys after the first 12 hours with the car...I must say all the hype is true...The most unbelievable car I have ever driven. It is just so connected and tight...love it.

The down sides:

- Changing lanes is difficult (Because everyone wants to get next to you to take photos with their phones) Luck the go fast pedal works so well.

- The nose is very low, I have to reverse mine into the garage because of the very slight angle my driveway is on. The front skirt would touch if I try to go in forward.

- I am very scared I will lose my license, this car is deceptively quick and any little poke of the accelerator takes you over 130km hr. (Not that I have done that yet because that would be illegal, however if I was to poke the acceletator it would do that)

- The car is so fantastic that I now am going out this weekend to buy another cheaper car for everyday use, I do not want the GTR out in the rain or to use it for work.....I should have kept the 335.

The up sides:

- OMFG...this car is unbelievable.

Beg, borrow...do whatever it takes, if you do not have one you have to get one. The best car I have driven, the most fun I have had.

so what's your initial impression?

Very nice indeed, damn aggressive looking car. The rubbernecking is a little crazy as it is still a novelty on the road up here (only a couple of JDM cars around previously).

have been treating it gently as per the advised 'break in' period (under 3,500 rpm at the moment until 500 km)

Still breathtaking whilst driving limp like this though!

will let you know more after running it in over easter.

Considered sleeping in the garage with it last night. Will be back for the POS at 2,000 km soon I think...

Those above points are very true. It's a very hard car to drive at the legal limit (I mean 100km/hr means depressing thing pedal I reckon 3mm at most - seriously!) And yes I'm now on a lot of camera phones. I'm happy as mine as my daily though - its the best start and end to a day I could hope for.

But for the purists out there I learnt another very nice fact about the GT-R last night. The thing I love about this car the most is it still drives like a GT-R. The VDC for all of it's negative publicity is a really impressive bit of kit. Something the US guys know nothing about is what an old GT-R is like to drive.

These new ones with the VDC set to R Mode will mean if you drive smooth into a corner and power out the back end will kick like the old ones, and if you keep your foot planted the ATTESSA will drive the fronts and will bring the back end in and off you'll shoot. It was always the method of maximising the performance in the old cars and that is all still there in these new ones. The VDC will not interfere in this action.

However - if you go into a corner too hot and the front starts to push - thats when the VDC comes in. It will actually modualte each wheel (you can actually feel it) and get you back around the corner and allow you to power out. So the VDC is really protecting massive under-steer more than over-steer and I have to say its BRILLIANT.

is there any chance you going some where this weekend, so i can stoke you....have never seen the R35 in real life and would dearly love to....

Yea congrats to all the new owners. Just curious there's been a lot of talk about gearbox noise and 'diff chatter' at low speeds from US owners with the standard fluids Nissan are using. Just wondering if this has been evident in the newly arrived cars. Also any new owners considering switching to different after market fluids? I guess this would cause warranty concerns though.

Yes there is a bit of noise, but just adds to the aural experience if you ask me.

so how low is the nose on this thing - 2" - 3" off the ground?

had my hands around a jap one and I'm quite keen to pull a Oz spec one down for a Nav/camera idea.

need a donor car for a day :D

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter? 
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
