I am so rude. I'm going to try and blame it on my flu

Jeff and Nerida Beable, long time SAU member and Targa veterans...... 2nd in early Modern. Great effort to you both! Congratulations!

Now Jeff, if you read this, I'd like you to give me your thoughts on the new Yokohama Ao50 you ran please!

Sorry I second the congrats to the Beables- I didn't realise Jeff was on the forums >_<

An awesome looking car and a brilliant result.

btw this is what happens when Kel goes to Targa and leaves her car keys at home - just in time for the boys to get up to no good at Wakie

grrrrrrrrr

Oh shit,,,am in trouble now. I promise Kel I didn't thrash her,,,she sat there all day feeling all lonely so I thought I'd give her some lovin.

Neil.

:D sprung!

you muight have been nice to her, but I thrashed the ring off it. it understeers, then oversteers, then understeers again, all the while single spinning. I ended up with a 1.17 on road tyres with a passenger which I thought was OK.

still it was the second best zed I drove on the day, and unlike the other one it drove home with the roof down and heater and radiator on.

Wow, that red R33 GTR is stunning (car no. 819) is that a geniune Nismo 400R?

na its been made to 400R spec with a 2.8L and the 400r kit. it was a rush job to fit it up in time and i think it will be coming back off for some more attention.

Just waiting for YouPorn, oops, YouTube to ok some vids.

Have uploaded The Sideling and Rossarden at your request Snowballs, and have a good shot of Savman's launch control on Paloona.... make sure you watch Paloona all the way, we were 8th fastest outright

Just search #732 targa tasmania 2009 or somethin

Part 1 and 2 of Rinadeena (Strahan reverse) at the end of day 4.

Slipperier than a frog covered in vaseline.... and check out the vibration from a 150gram flat spot on the front right...... was near impossible to steer under brakes toward the end.

Mad props to Tim for not demanding I stop to let him out.

Peter Moore's 34 GTR (genuine N1) can be seen torn to bits in this...... at 3:30 in the second one.

Great driving Benny- and yes Timmy is mad :D

I dreamt about Rossarden last night (yes, I am really that sad).

So who is doing what next?

I'm thinking about having a crack at NSW Dutton (whatever it's called these days) but itching already to get back in the left hand seat!

Yeah I'm doing Vic Dutton (ATC) in a couple of weeks which will help ease these blues. Was going to do it in the new R35 but the little dragon is doing well currently so will have a crack in that once again (plus I'm still too scared to scratch the new toy).

Would LOVE to do the NSW round as well - looks awesome but I just don't know if the budget will stretch since I'm also def doing W.A. Dutton (jn an EVO again) and Mt Buller in Dec.

I need to find some time to watch those vids Benny - I'm stuck in training all day working hours currently for a few weeks. Infact I'm still at work now so I don't know why I'm wasting time as it is as I really want to go home! :P

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
