yay for possibly the most useless thread in this section in years

nice paint...

Very childish comment - i would expect more from a "president" el capitano - dick head, maybe you could have opened the pdf and learnt to read between the lines for there was more info to come but this was just a lead in. Simply get rid of the the thread if it so useless please and i shall keep my project up my sleave.

Thank you and have lovely day - my appologise to the other sensible memebers for my intention was to keep all up to speed on progession and give a list of the build for it would have been interesting for serious members performing serious up grades but not now to be.

There's a pretty neat new number added to the RB30 dyno results thread - more power, no methanol in a car which had already done 8.05 @ 173mph with its old tune: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...0&start=60#

At least gives a bit of info and you can easily find videos on youtube as well :P Fingers crossed the weather is fine in Auckland this weekend, then there should be a bit more of an update on the car :(

Well i did look @ the PDF....

The only thing i can really deduce is your Dave Barrow, and you have a RB30

Again, nice paint.

this thing is very very serious i dont want to say too much as i'll leave that upto Dave, he is gonna be rocking a killer machine and very far beyond 99.9% of the current packages going around, im sure the numbers will do the talking. He is a good bloke and is taking this car very seriously, ill be watching this car with anticipation :P

good luck with it all mate i'd love to hear of any updates via PM if your not keen on posting on the forums

cheers

Unique 1 - Jasol , you guys know where it's at! Will see the car at the plex soon and thanks for your support.

I was however in time going to discuss the hybrid Nissan reverse pattern 4 speed auto built by BMS and it's attributes as well as all the other mods to drive train, body as well as the engine. I was even going to discuss the 2 banks of 1600cc injectors, fuel pressures and subsequent injector duty cycles, crank case pressures, vacuum pump drive rpm, axle upgrades, custom RDG full spool,M&W ignitors and coils, ECU as well as Air fuel ratios and exhaust temps, not to mention magnafuel pumps , accusump, direct port NOS and of course the Borg Warner 78mm.

This set up and the figures i have provided are only the beginning of what could have been interesting topic to some? I do however now have a base map and it's forward from here and i choose to keep that to my self.

Oh shit my paint job is F^%k$d - hey do i need to say any more?

No more from me here thank you. post-31622-1236774825_thumb.jpgpost-31622-1236774908_thumb.jpgpost-14072-1124714866.jpgpost-31622-1236775070_thumb.jpg

Bugger this thread could have been interesting - cheers ash and co

If you look at the title it said "No chit chat, just results". I think its very fair to have assumed he had no intention of providing much more information. If it was "My new drag car" with the same attachments then it would have seemed more like a teaser.

Either way good luck with the car, looks very serious and look forward to hearing strip results - cool to see someone is using one of those auto setups, a lot of GTR folks seem to have a grudge against them despite them making a lot of sense.

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
