nah didnt change everyday driving, or even just planting it.. as it always went to 100%

but tonight i shall be swinging around for more testing.. i have something else i wanna try..

but i have noticed that down low the AFR's have changed down low on stall.. obviously now its getting much more air and not tuned for it, and where there wasnt boost before, there now is.. i guess the MAP sensor is helping but yeh.. i may need Cihan to do a quick road tune just for bottom end WOT.

when you get yours in today let me know what you think??

plus i think that it would only make a good difference with a highstall.. as you said yours is now hitting stall so you wouldve seen the bigger difference. the extra 5psi or so helps.

Ok, makes sense. At least now he can tune it properly as the damn throttle opens now, a little lean off boost should be ok and help it spool I guess. Better call Cihan later.

the quick test i did in the city, the car went to 45% then to 100% for me. the 45% was probably a delay in the screen update or something.

ill do it again this afternoon on the way home in the back streets. at least the car will be well and truly warm by then

you need to fully press the brake in. and hold the accel for a few seconds.. it should sit at 40-45%.. if you release the brake with the accel to the floor you will see 100%.

It definitely feel its much more responsive and the hesitation it had sometimes coming out of corners is gone. There must be a delay on that wire I cut to stop the throttle opening. Bloody Mr Nissan.

thinking of this.. i actually have slightly better off the line take of.. as in the response to when you slam the accelerator is much different now..

lol this morning i managed to get the wheels spinning again, and they're pirelllliiiiiiss lol

fun lol.

im gonna put mine hidden in the dvd area.. eventually

When you think about it, there's probably only 2 possible reasons to even put in a switch.

1) The ECU eventually throws a code (unlikely given how many km's you guys have done since cutting the wire)

2) You lend your car to someone & you think they may try to launch it from standstill, & they can't drive, & it's wet, & etc

In which case you wouldn't lend them the car, right? I put the switch in so I could easily compare before & after & before & after again, & after & after....lol. But I wasn't hooning & there wasn't a tunnel anywhere near here :whistling:.

The only difference I could pick driving around town was that there was slightly better acceleration if you really had to cross the intersection before getting t-boned, & you'd been stopped with your foot on the brake.

The launch is certainly better, but not as noticeable as my experiments a few weeks ago. Obviously there were other factors at play then, but not enough to make me want to pursue that testing now that a free mod seems to fix the low end restriction.

What's funny was the conclusions we had come to previously that seem inaccurate now pinch.gif .

ok ill perform this mod one day this year........ damn being married into an italian family is hard work. something on ALL the time lol

anyway, i bet the nismo ECU gets the cams on faster, so lets go with that so craig and i still have something over you all :P

Mate, I hope you do get something extra for having a Nismo ECU  . You'd have to be annoyed at paying money for nothing more than you could get by cutting a wire.

Surely Nismo don't just disable that input and sell it for $800 or whatever?? That would be a huge scam if that was the case lol.

LOL. :nyaanyaa:

Anyway, I decided not to put a switch for now as it seems to be fine. At worst you would only have to turn the car off for a second to reset it anyway.

The high stall converter is the key here though, I could never get it onto stall before with the highflow so it would always be a slug off the line, even worse than stock because I had no push from the converter (because it wasn't coupling yet) Now I can so it will make living with the GTX turbo much more bearable.

youd hope thats not all they did!! haha

but no it was a full tune as well, also dual maps (if you want that). who knows about the cam advance, Scotty is there any way to tell? does something go high or low that i can chuck a meter on?

    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
    • To re-cap, I bought: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Lsailt-8G-Infiniti-Q50-Q60-2014_1601171829627.html?spm=a2756.trade-list-buyer.0.0.2cd476e9FTIlKE As you can see, if I bought 20 it was $653, but I bought 1 so it was $1,170. I was very tempted to buy 2 and resell 1 at 25% cheaper. @MBS206, I am not sure if they do a Kluger one, here is their list but it might be there under a global model name: http://www.lsailt.com/product/android-interface?page=1 Keep in mind these full android replacements have basically all the bits a phone does (cpu, ram, storage, wifi, bluetooth, usb interfaces) other than a screen (it uses a host), thus the $800+ cost. Android Auto screen mirroring is MUCH cheaper as it's just a cut down shell, input mirroring and output mirroring BTW I also need that "screen off" feature, it is much harder to see wildlife even if a dash is reasonably dark. Both the Fuga and V37 have display off buttons for night use, they just come back on for a second or 3 if you interact with it, eg skip a song.
    • I use FCC car launcher. It has an option for different backgrounds, so instead of turning the screen off you can swipe 'up' to a black screen with no background/icons. (mine has the time on it only). It's kinda nice. Also lets you use gestures to say swipe to go to next song, etc.
