will be using a power fc, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump but want to run on stock internals. can anybody recomend what turbo will be the best suited for good medium punch through to redline and why? would be a great help :)

so 20 psi. would the engine be able to take that much boost on stock internals?

doesnt say what turbo it is only that its from a company called ninja garage on www.japperformancecarparts.com

and its a thrust bearing turbo not ball bearing.

Firstly: ZOMG HUGE SCREAMING TEXT ROFLCOPTER !!!1!1!!onehundredandeleven!!!1!

Secondly: The 430 would not be able to make more than 240rwkw and thats at max situation. The 480 would be good. Less lag and good midrange. The 560 would be laggy, but definitely make the power.

KKR turbo's are not the best. Better bet is a RB25DET high flow'd turbo from GCG.

Or a HKS GTRS or 2835. They will make the power you want.

Ash is just jealous cause he really wants a KKR turbo and he just knows deep down inside he ain't man enough. As we all know real men strap on a Chinese turbo assembled in Siberia by Immigrant Eskimo workers so they can watch it on the dyno with the're eyes squinting and teeth grinding, heart rate going through the roof with sweat dripping into the're multi-colored running shoes (also made by Eskimos) living on the edge every second. Yeah !! That's livin' baby, wooh whooo !! :P

Actually, for the new price they are OK but personal choice would be to spend the money on a 2535 or better. Hey, if your patient someone on these forums will eventually sell there Garrett or Trust turbo.

I bought my car with a KKR 480 running 18psi and with a dyno sheet for 240rwkw. aside from running that much boost leading to never ending boost leaks, KKR's are teh sucky turbos, mine starts spooling at around ~2500rpm with straight through exhaust and EBC (used to be more like over 3000), seems to me that to have to run that much boost to make that power, well whats the point. On the other hand another RB25 getting around with one can't get boost until 4000rpm (apparently it's a KKR style turbo though).

Strangely enough, on some other car forums the Ebay turbos are seen as good, cheap power, with ancedotal evidence that 10 out of say 100 are ok and have decent tolerances, I still wouldn't use one.

I'm looking at either a Holset (if I can find out not only the specs i need for 250rwkw as well as something I can bolt onto the standard exh manifold that will fit), T04E or 3071r.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
