the tune/dyno was done over east, i've had a few little issues to sort out before getting it retuned.

the timing did seem a bit adventurous as you mentioned, so i backed it off a bit pretty much after my first drive just so i knew it was safe up until i get my trusted tuner to give it a once over.

when it gets retuned, timing and fuel will be backed off, however i'd like to wind some more boost into it if possible.

cheers simon

i'm getting it all tidied up and what not to get it rego'd/permitted for WA at the moment.

then after that i've got a few things to put on/remove before it goes in for a retune, hopefully i can gain a bit more midrange rather than a very peaky power graph..might make it a bit 'easier' to handle too, 1980 design suspension isn't exactly up for for a 400hp kick!

nice car mate well done. couple of little things i may have done differently but overall its a really nice tasteful car

i'm acutally working on a 31 at the moment, not quite as unique as your's, its only a aussie r31 Ti, but has copped new motor and manual conversion. removed moulds through the doors, dog legs and front gaurds & shaved locating holes, boot lock, arial and shaved rear garnish and a line or 2 out of the bars its going gun metal (new honda colour) i think its actually called phantom grey or something. series 1 bonnet, series 1 lights, pintara grill with series 3 front bar with around 18mm chopped out of the sides to fit all the series 1 stuff. also is getting some balck 17'"s (6 spoke).

anyways back on topic great car mate well done.

ALSO, in regards to the questions about the "big fat superlights"

They are ROTA RB's barnd is ROTA, RB is model.

Rota sort of copy famous designs, work replica's and that sort of thing

anyway made in china (nothing against stuff made in china) I think and they do have a repution for being "brittle" but i personally have never seen a set let go. (quite a few local drift cars run them)

they are not that exspensive at all

thought i'd chuck up some info on my car...

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
