Thanks to SAU exec's for organising another great track day as we both had a great time. :(

The time we put into car prep paid off with a split hose on the boost controller the only issue for the day and once I found where the hiss was coming from a simple fix.

A big thank you to:

Gary Baxter for his advice on tyre pressures because it made quite a difference to grip levels.

Ando (S13Deviat) for showing me the correct lines and braking points

Chris (evil weevil) for showing Clinton some good lines and braking points – to the point where the old 626 was going quicker that it should have been

We now cannot wait for the next track day and we have renewed enthusiasm to put more effort into proper oil management work on the R33's so they can see more track time. :)

Ohhhh Adam U have no ideea. I even washed the car for you but u did not nottice. I LOVE YOU GUYS. I wonder why I stayed under a rock so many years....what a waste.......sorry a uber waste!

not sure what has happened as it was fine at the track all day and coming home. looks like it will be taking a trip to the mechanic to investigate.

Sorry to hear John. That thing has been bullet proof through Wakie and OP as well. Hopefully its something small like an oil line or something.

Did any of you see a particulary crazy person in a very pretty black conv doing equally crazy shit in the arvo.

I did,,,I was in the passenger seat and loved all of it. Slight tail out through turn 1 at full song had me laughing my head off.

You are with out a doubt one of the best drivers SAU has mate.

On his behalf I would also like to appoligize to the skyline drivers that we harrased lap after lap,,,I was trying to control him,,,but it doesn't always work.

Neil.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
