Hi guys,

got the car wheel aligned today here in brisbane from bridgestone select, done an awsome job. We settled for Rear left +1.14degree Rear right +1.29 and both toeing in 2.7mm which under full squat the car will pull the rear wheels back to 0 degree and 0 toe, so should hook up good.

Front left -1.83degree and front right -1.46degree, front toeing in 0.8mm and got the caster sorted aswell, because the left front was hanging back the right front was pushed foward, so thats all good now too.

I am a little worried about the amount of toe on the rear as it does seem like alot.

After looking at that video, it doesn't look like your getting enough rear droop to zero out your ass end after the initial launch... Spring rates, compression and weight transfer looks pretty good though.

I'd hate to see the car start getting sketchy in the top end for the sake of marginally more traction (that you may not need).

Must be a blast to drive!

Justin.

The Japs were going faster in the late 90's with H-patterns?

They probably were...it's been a while :)

Definitely fastest/quickest H-pattern street GTR either way.

Looks like there is plenty left in, too.

Hi Guys, Just driving home back to Mackay, I will put the link on the 8.97sec pass up. Also Theo Willot Still holds the World record for fastest H pattern GTR I missed out by .02 of a second, and on Sunday I was gona to smash that time with an ET of 8.8. But third gear smashed into a million bits. I was 3MPH faster by half track than my 8.97 and thats also lifting of cause 3rd blew up. We are under the impression that the selector fork has bent therofore only half engaging 3rd and stripping the teeth off the cog.

Im laying down the challange that this car will run a Mid 8.5sec pass or lower with this H pattern box, as I am only running 150MPH to get 8.97secs and theo done 8.95 at 162MPH, I am only currently running 900-950HP with alot of go juice up my sleeve. Haha.

I will upload the other video my GF filmed later tonight when we get home,

cheers Matt

There is no evidence of a Japanese or American or euro or pommy GTR even running the 8s with a H pattern box, me and theo are the only ones to do it, Yes there are plenty of GTR in the 8s and 7s but they all run Sequential boxes or Airshifted liberties or Lenco gearboxes, which are an easy 0.3 of a sec quicker. Thats why Theos time is a World record that himself or me could ever find recorded.

Yes, how could I forget Theo's time....I don't think it was registered though :D

Either way, fantastic result and hope to see it get close to [RH9GTR]'s 8.47 auto time

btw, what does the car weigh in race trim?

Check out these videos... There are several running 8's with H-patterns

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
