Corrine i have some saved bookmarks on my other computer (Japan related)

Some stuff on good hotels, places to see, things to do, transport etc etc

Ill email them to you when i get a chance to get them.

I wanna go to Japan again :P

Yo

Im heading to Tokyo in November

Where is a good parts shop?

To be specific im looking for a full set of adjustable rear arms/rods – kazama/ikeya

Crystal in Chiba is where you will find alot of aftermarket gear.

Oh and escalators!!! Stick to the left if your just there for the ride, or go the right hand side if your in a hurry!!

Uhh that's actually wrong. If you are in Osaka stick to the RIGHT, if you are around Tokyo stick to the LEFT. :P

Or just do what others do lol

AGE I hate to break the news but in sydney everyone standing still or walking slow stands on the left and people in a hurry on the right on escalators. and most buildings have plastic umbrella holder machines in the city. you stick your umbrella in, and pull it out and it comes out wrapped in plastic! :P

we still do not have widespread use of toilets that wash your crack though. and judging by the smell on the train the other day we sure could use them...

Yeah well i've been to Sydney now twice....and I've learnt that the best thing to come out of Sydney is the road to Melbourne. Sydney is stupid for anyone who drives a car....it's like any planning rules went out the window when designing that place.

Yep, the bidets are a small shock to the system, but as a Plumber i am well used to there operation and installation. And surprisingly I've only ever installed them in homes of men who are fans of Musical Theater and ABBA. :domokun:

How long are you there?

The second night i am in will be in Osaka with a few people for some drift and fun runs.

There are usually some pretty sturdy roll cages to hold on to.

The last time i was out there the run started with a head on with a AE80mangled so im hoping for a better run of luck this time.

Running out of Sevens yet big fella? Back in less than a month. I'm up for a customs strip search.

Ikeya themselves.

Generally all manufacturers sell to the public.

Nearly all the gear Ikeya make and sell is on hand all the time.

If they say 40,000 yen say you will give them 35,000. They will more than likely look at you sideways and then just say ok ok ok. If you speak Japanese, don't.

Some fun people there.

Was this reply to me?

If so I'll be in japan from the 12th - 26th

Osaka from the 21st - 23rd not sure what I am doing there.. I haven't made any Plans for Osaka I thought I would play it by ear.

Yeah lol

I arrive on the 5th now, had to change from the 1st yesterday. not to worry.

Just spend a day in Seomon-Cho, The main shopping center is a double sided street over 2km long with the usual side alley's that go forever as well.

Its a dangerous place if you are a brand whore like me.

I stay in the Vista Grande which is in the middle of it and you really cant avoid wasting a few days there.

The Skydeck is nice aswell for a 360 degree view.

On clear days you can see Kyoto which looks really amazing from up there.

I followed my suitcases down the stairs at Tanimachi 4-Chrome station that day. 40kg = shit landing and feeling like death.

There is also Osaka Castle, Bamboo forest was amazing and freaky at the same time and also pretty far away.

I kept thinking of Ninja's flying down from the tree's like in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. the country of origin is irrelevant lol i was still drunk and tripping out. Only blurred shots that morning. :P

haha, Steve has just conned me into Nismo festival now so ill be over then also so that means i will likely get another container then too. I think ill be staying a little longer in December then Shaun and Steve though.

I cant take a 5 day trip it needs to be 2 or 3 weeks. Especially when it takes 9 hours to get somewhere.

I just need to avoid Nigerians like the plague.

Yeah lol

Wow that place is massive!

I love shopping but I won't have much money when I go over, I spent most of it on the accomodation :P

So I'll have to contain myself around shops.

I'm staying at the Ramada Osaka Hotel, not sure how far away that is from Vista Grande. But I wouldn't mind taking a trip to the sky deck. It looks nice.

I'm staying 2 nights in Kyoto at a Ryokan and a full day tour but I'm not sure if that covers the bamboo forest. We might try and take a look if we don't get lost. But I know it covers the rest of the sites around Kyoto.

I can't believe you were lugging 40kgs all around Japan, you would have to be on crack! I've got 1 suitcase with my travel backpack packed in there already so far it's only 14kgs. I've got a free shipping too so I plan on shoving everything heavy and my suitcase onto the boat and taking the lighter things back with me.

And woooo!!! It's hump day which means I leave in 3 days..

Why won't the week hurry up :D

When i went down to Nagoya to load the container i forgot the suitcases to throw in so i was f**ked and stuck with them till i left. I was lucky to hold onto it though otherwise i wouldnt have gotten away with a 3 Liter bottle of scotch that went unnoticed. :P

Ryokans are pretty over rated.

Unless they have a private onsen out in the gardens or are close to real hot springs they are a bitter disappointment for the cost.

You are about 8 blocks away from the shopping strip.

The Ryokan i'm staying at isn't too bad for the price. I think it's about 22000Yen per night.

including breakfast.

Not sure how far away the closest onsen is but it's something I definatly have to visit..

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
