I was driving home yesterday after picking my sister up from the city, on Canterbury Rd (bit before my street) some 2 wankers of ethnic decent (have a guess) decided to put some white paint on the road. I didn't have enough time to react and drove over it. When I got home (1 minute away) I took a look and there's all this white paint all on the bottom and behind my tyres. Basically the entire lower half had speckles of white paint! On my 10 day old R32! :P

Who the fck does sh!t like this? seriously? I'm so pissed off right now.

I called the cops last night in the hope they would do something (not sure if they did but I heard sirens going off and then stopping near by), anyway I'm gonna make an official complaint now! Gonna have to get this detailed or something like that!. :(

hey cereal.....man that sucks big time... i know how you feel I have taken my r33 out twice to the mean fiddler(rouse hill) and it was in the first week i got my car. both time i found a new dent in the passenger side door.

as they say"Jealousy is a curse"

mind the spelling.

Ray

Its important to get it off quickly, try polishing it off with a cloth and some mild cutting compound. A good detail should take care of it if you are busy. The faster you get it off the more likely you are to get rid of it all.

So you saw them tip the paint on the road in front of you?

and you didn't follow them or call the cops immediately? or get their license plate number?

I seriously doubt you'd be able to make any vandalism charge stick, unless you had an independant witness. And even if you did, because there was no accident involved I doubt the insurance companies could do anything to chase up payment from them, so I don't think they'd give you a no at fault claim.

not cool.

i saw a crazed looking 20yo lad this morning running along canterbury (i use for work every day) rd hurling objects at cars.

not really sure why he was doing it, but pretty glad my car wasn't hit. Maybe it wasn't hit cause it had 2 lads in it with a combined weight of around 500 pounds

what with these people?

Meguiers make a really good product called "paint removal" :)

I used it to get all the white taxi paint outa my when i got sideswipped, did a great job. I think its around $20 a bottle, smells nice, and can be picked up places like autobarn etc.

Even though you got wet paint compared to mine, i think it will still do a great job.

I didn't see them throw it on the road. I saw two guys standing next to paint tins laughing. Put 2 and 2 together. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go and see if they had a getaway car.

I scrubbed hard with some paint remover stuff (turps or metho) and it cleared it up (no damage to the sexy black paint) but left some white streaks. I got this cleaned at a car wash (due to water restrictions). It's mostly gone but I'm taking it to get detailed on Wednesday (earliest booking). It's not overly noticable but if you look carefully you'll be able to see it. :) :)

I did take some photos and I'll post them when they get developed.

If you didn't see them do it then you've got even less chance of getting them busted, don't waste your time.

Also, it could have been an accident but then they are just arseholes and thought it was funny to see people drive through it.

If they wanted to be REAL bastards they could have thrown it over your car instead of under it.

let see two guys standing near paint tins, laughing at car driving through wet paint.

Tell the cops you saw them.

Stuff it. They'll most likely have paint on them if they did it.

And besides, if you were just walking past, and saw this, would you stand beside the paint tins and laugh? No. I'd keep walking and hope no-one thought it was me.

Bugger it, save alot of people some money by a good assumption.

Also think about this. Some lady (your mum, sister, small family) drives through, loses control and gets killed.

Or, they brag to their mates and they start doing it on a regular basis.

Lots of things to consider.

I HATE people that wreckdamage cars. I have had my car Keyed. Cost me $400 to get it fixed. I would have broken all their fingers that held the weapon if I caught them. They'd think twice about doing it again.

sorry to hear that dude. wats got me scratchin my head is if u were only a minute away from where it happened...why didnt u just go back to confront them, take pics, or bash some heads?? i would have gone back taken some pics if they were still there...confronted them, and then have a rumble if need be:D:D:D

believe me, I wanted to run back with a pole or two and open up some whoop ass but i was more worried about the car. I've booked it into a detailer on Wednesday to get rid of the tiny bits that still remain. He's pretty confident he can get rid of it all. Also getting the stone chips on the front bar removed.

I saw 2 drunk ****s ages ago on princess highway in vic near my place breaking empty beer bottles on the road on the other side of the road while going the opposite driection. I was in a Patrol 4WD so we hopped the curve and tried to run over (scare) the 2 drunks but they ran into a park near by.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
