I was all set to enter Bathurst but NSW State Supersprints start on the 17th January at Oran Park G/P so I'll be flat out getting all the changes done that I need to do.

What you guys really need to do is register for the NSW hillclimbs and do Bathursts 2 day state champs. Sundays mountain straight climb is without a doubt the best and fastest climb ever.

Neil.

can we get some dates for some of these upcoming events.....Bathurst hillclimb would be brilliant.

have to get this cams 2s liscence sorted....

The License is easy,,,just go to the cams site and upload it,,,you are already a member of our club,,,so half the work is done.

Log booking your car would be a great idea as well.

Farking insane is all I can say, so so so good, really drives like a big horsepower kart, so easy to drive.

Second that!

Mick, have you finished the rebuild yet?

I met you back in 08 @QR in my 34 gtr.

think you will back for Nov 24th?

I have been enjoying a r32 Gtr and Evo of late.

Hopefully we can have a run together soon.

Cheers

and where is willo? Kept thinking you guys would be up there..

Hey mate,

Yeah i've been looking at the pics and results from the days. missing it. Look like your going awesome in the evo!

i'm getting married 14th nov and car is getting closer to ready. I doubt I will make it in time to be honest. If I can, I will be there will bells on though.

I think Willo is a bigger chance of getting back for that day???

+10 bonus points for marlin getting a drive of the machine!!!!

Hope the wedding goes well mate.

The Evo is a brilliant car, very std at the moment. But none the less very capable.

The GTR is a handful, but brilliantly fun. We ran low boost and even lower boost due to

a small crack in an intercooler pipe and still did a 58.2 on sprint first time out in it.

We will be running high boost on the 24th so hope for some significantly better times again.

Hope to see you up there soon mate.

Im happy to give you guys some of the Vic events, but we are in the same boat as QLD.

Our motorsport doesnt really start up again until the start of Feb, and we dont tend to get any dates till mid December.

A word of warning.... if you come to Vic in Feb - chances are its going to be very hot. Might be better to make it slightly later (ie March/April) and hope for some cooler weather. The SAU drivers usually attend the PI track day run by the WRX Club (usually March) as its part of our motorsport championship.

If you want help with Vic events, just keep reminding me as it nears the end of the year

in the process of logbooking car as we speak, having it inspected on saturday.

im not fussy on where we go as long as everyone is happy. would love to do bathurst feb/march.

  • 1 month later...

Stumbled across Skyline Nationals 2010 Thread, Shown shine, cruise and track day at Mallala Adelaid. This could be cool, its later in the year though, Sep 10. Posted in National Events Section.......any thoughts.

    • You know how your car rolled through a fence in your last jacking escapade? Scissor jacks increase the likely hood of that sort of thing happening immensely!
    • http://calfinn.com.au/product/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c   I have this and fits under a S3 33 GTR with no issues. Purchased in 2009 and not one issue. It was $950 back then. Not cheap but something so important isn’t worth cheaping out on.
    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
