Hey all

Some of you may know that a drifted my car into a wall about June and have just been tracking it without the front being fixed.

Finally got round to getting it all together.

All up the crash cost me around $1500.

Intercooler, lights, indicators and paint etc. Thanks to the generosity of Steve and Troy for the free front bar and reo. Legends!

If anyone wants good paint for not a lot of money try James from Patti Panels in Campbellfield. He's been a great help and was flexible to fix/paint the car to the level that I wanted. I didn't want a perfect job coz I'll probably just smash it again! He'll do a top notch job too if that's what you want. Very easy to deal with.

Anyway I'm very happy with the results!

Here are some pics:

Yeh guys ive gotta say this 'cheap job' is as good if not better than most 'top notch' jobs that kents pay thousands for :\ looks great from far but up close there are no nasty surprises.

For the money paid it is bloody insane value for money thats for sure!

Patti Panels are a great alternative to say DT Panels, if you want a cheap but great job, hit James up for a quote, you definately wont be dissappointed. And as Russell pointed out, they can also do a showroom finish if thats what youre after.

btw im in love with the new look of Russ' car!

type M bar shits on GTR bar when you have GTR bonnet and grill IMO.

Looks great.

Yeah but I still think it doesn't look like 'my' car without the gtr bar. If I can find a good one for cheap I'll probably still go that way.

Cool, good to see it all back together. Looks good and you dont even have the money wheels on it

Hoping my paint will be finished before xmas and all my mechanical fixes by end of Jan, then we can go rub panels and undo all the good work of others :D

It's on!!! haha.

Got some N1 headlights on it now and it's looking more like 'my' car again haha.

I should clarify that it was only the front quarters, bonnet and bar that got painted. Don't look too close at the rest of the car haha.

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
