Mate driving my car without me in it? No chance.

Only people that have driven mine without me in it are my wife (sparingly) and my Dad (I was driving the moving truck)

Selected mates have driven the Stag when I am in it... but that is only because if they do something stupid or that I don't like, they are well within striking distance ;)

Three things you never lend to a mate. Your Mower. Your Motor. and Your missus.

Why? Because they all come back f*cked.

hell no, i wont even let my brother drive my car without me in the passenger seat and even then i dont let him boost it

ive seen the way my mates drive round in there shitty cars so id hate to see wot they would do if given the keys to a 600hp gtr

I only let my brother drive my car now, i used to let me mates drive it until a mate of mine borrowed my other mates r34 gtt and wrote it off around a corner. that allso broke up their long term friend ship.

Include chain saw

lol

just spoke to the gf and the 31 is dieing slowly, heater core is leaking into the footwell and the rear wheel bearings are almost dead too

soooooooooooo....... i said she can drive the stag while im in South Africa (only till monday tho, few 31's getting around here which is cool)

its ok, she knows how to drive a lowish car and the previous owner had kurbed each wheel too :)

I only let my parents drive my car, & they both hated it!

So now only I drive it

i take it the suspension wasnt "squishy" enough and it was steering way to true and accurate for them ?

thats what mine said anyway :)

My philosophy is basically the same as Nick (GoldZilla). My dad has driven all of my cars (and could any time he asked, hell I drove his for years without breaking them!). Mum could if she wanted (the Stag), but I doubt that the situation would arise.

She won't even attempt to move the Z, even though it's auto and practically child-proof providing you don't bury the right pedal...

My wife drives the Stag all the time, she's in it now. She's driven the Z plenty of times too (I always have to remind her the speedo is in mph). She isn't proficient in a manual, so hasn't driven the DR, but once she has some experience (in her 1.4L 1200 ute) that will be fine too.

I don't think any of my mates have driven my cars in years - they all have company cars with private use so the need isn't there.

Oh, and the in-laws have driven the Stag too, (they own a Forester GT, so an AWD turbo wagon is hardly a novel idea)

I'd let most people drive my car with me in the passenger seat once.

It's a rarity I let them a second time. If they are given a second chance then sure, they can take it whenever they want as I obviously trust their driving.

Some of my friends I wouldn't let sit in my car let alone drive it.

Dont mind my "best" mates taking my car for a spin, if you cant trust them who can ya trust?? but certainly wouldnt let any tom dick or harry go for a spin in it...

I only ever let one mate drive the stag but that was because I wanted to hear it from the outside and my hands were filthy from working on his car. :ninja:

My old man went for a run down to the shops in it and decided it was "a bit hoony", Mum refused to drive it, My sister enjoyed riding shotgun but didn't want to drive it.

When I had my R33, I only ever let 1 or 2 of my closest mates drive it. Even when I sold it, there were no test drives until a substancial deposit was received.

I actually tried teaching my girlfriend how to drive stick in it aswell, but thats about it! hhaha :ninja:

    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
