Ouch... I hate that kinda Sh*t!

I was going to ask why you didnt give chase but having read the damage list I understand! Do you remember anything of mention about the ute? Something we can look out for?

Yeah its undriveable, the front drivers side wheel basically wont turn and was dragged on to the tow truck. Otherwise I wouldve chased.

Was a white hilux ute with a flat tray, thats about all I can remember, wasnt really taking much notice of it until i saw something come off the back and go kablamo under my car.

A thankyou goes out to the people who stopped (who will never read this probably), especially to the guy in the white r33 gtst whod just filled up at calwell servo :(

EDIT: Oh and a big thankyou to ewen too for coming and keeping me company while waiting for the tow truck, help me remove the front bar and driving me home :D

At least I have an excuse to get some new wheels now...

That's tough luck, i feel for ya mate! Hope it gets back on the road soon, but at least you know it's in good hands.

Anyways, had a guy talk to me in bunnings car park while i was waiting for the turbo timer to flick off, asking some questions about Skylines and buying one. I pointed him towards the forums so he might come on some time.

haha yeah you hated those 3spokes. would've looked pretty good on mine... just think, you could've destroyed r33 gtr wheels had we ever done the swap! go some te37s i tell you!!!!! 18x9.5 in that new gunmetal limited ed. colour. and your front bar was a bit munted anyway so thats no great loss... your exhaust wasn't really "exhaust" as much as "pipe". you never really washed your car so a bit of a panel gap won't matter and i've heard that gtr brembro's aren't as good as AP 6spots....

(lol sorry just trying to inject some humor into the fux0red situation...)

seriously, giz a bell if you need a hand with anything. i work around the corner from you if you need a ride anywhere and if i can help with the beastie, just sing out dude.

d

Haha thanks for the offers. Cars at Ed's and I should have a total of the damage and what needs replacing today, front calliper has taken a fair hit so yeah, looking at upgrading

Also should have wheels and front bar this weekend if everything goes to plan... no they dont say "rays" on them anywhere, but they should look good in my opinion... front bar is also subtly different, looks alot better in my opinion too :P

    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
