For those of you that can wind your memories back 1.5 - 2 years, I saw Kate's old acid rush R33 getting a big bootful down Allara Street this afternoon

that must have been me, thought i might have spotted an R31 at the lights? didnt have time to wave though.. I bought the car from evo motorsport in fyshwick over a year ago now, not sure as to who used to own it before me..

If you bought it from Evo then yeah it was you I saw. I doubt you saw me though, I was 3 floors up in an office building, I only looked out when I heard you ;)

Gave/got a wave/nod this morning from a guy in a silver R33 on Belco Way this morning. Couldn't tell much about the car except it had a kit and nice many spoke rims, think it had a FMIC too. I was in the other Silver R33. Wonder what was up? .... with everyone hooning around you? Looked like you were content doing 60 ;)

Spotted a wine red 32 with gold wheels pulling into the belco carpark was I was leaving around 1:20, and a black S1 33 going through the belconnen way/coulter drive lights not long after that.

Also spotted a chick driving a silver 32 with chrome wheels twice in civic around 3:35 & 4pm (Chintami?) And a black 33 going into belconnen mall as I was walking away from my car not long ago.

This morning, I saw a black series 1 R33, about 2 metres behind me (LITERALLY) travelling down Belconnen Way. Dude, when I can't see your little shiny "S" you are WAY the hell too close to me. And I WILL flash my brakes at you. Get the point! And when that other guy pulled in front of me suddenly and I put on the brakes, of course you're going to get a sudden shock! Especially when I can already see the make of your sunglasses! He pulled off left down Haydon drive to tailgate someone else. Tosser!

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
