I'll be leaving my place around 6.30 to be at mallala for 8

just need to check the front brakes again, perhaps cut away the brake dust guard (as something is noisy at low speed)

must test tomorrow - knackered atm. no knees makes it SO hard

Im down to meet you at BP Bolivar Krishy, ill head there anyway if you dont to see if anyone else rocks up there, and make my own way to Mallala

Pussy :( I've got to be up at 4, to leave Golden Grove, take a mate to Craigmore to pick up Dave and his car, drive from there to Mile End for a Vilis breakfast, then from Mile End to Mallala. Make a day of it, enjoy it!

what time u doin brekky from? ive got nigel's GTR at mine sunday night, so will have to come by

So having not met anyone on this list before and only partial info in peoples sigs, what cars are everyone bringing (erm, skylines?)

I'll be in my black 1994 R32 GTR running recently installed 2860-7s with the other usual bits and pieces.

nissan patrol 2.8td, not entering the circuit (thank f**k). Nigel's BIT SUS GTR on the back though so kinda counts :P

 I know my way to Dion's

+1, he got me there (and turns out i worked on that subdivision 5 years ago )

make it the caltex on the other side krish, cos i'll prob meet nigel there (as he's towing adrian's silvia out), and its easier to get in and out of mate ;)

I also have never met anyone, but I'll be out in a white r34 2door with bronze rims.

Preps are going good, my new plazmaman plenum and intercooler kit is fitted and got it tuned, very happy with the out come.

Fitted the HEL brake lines tonight and bled the brakes. Will fit dba slotted rotors and QFM brakeds tomorrow or Saturday. New pirelli's fitted... Gotta get wheel allignment, the guy who does it for me is on holidays soo dunno what I'll do there but not the end of the world. Hiring a car trailer is annoying me as, in murray bridge the place that hires them shuts at 2pm on Sunday and opens Monday at 8:30am and shuts at 5pm so will probs have to hire it for 3days arrgghhh!!!

Oh well will all be worth it...

I'm glad you can see it...cos i sure as hell cant

Krishy i think there is a meet spot @ Caltex just up the rd from BP for stragglers

ok then for the panzies :( i am going to be at the caltex servo now instead of the BP servo....the caltex servo (for those of you who dont know) is a little bit up from the BP northbound......get some good breaky into me and then sit and wait there for you guys and i will be leaving there roughly around 7:10am......so meet there before hand....i will most likely be there around 06:45am :)

I just had to sprint down to sprints cos i noticed that my power steering belt had half fallen apart ;) Make sure you check all your belts guys.

far out.

The last thing anyone wants is to see Luke's ass if his belt gives way...

    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
    • The downside of this is when you try to track the car, as soon as you hit ABS you get introduced to a unbled system. I want to avoid this. I do not want to bleed/flush/jack up the car twice just to bleed the f**kin car.
    • But again, the engineers said your cast aluminium would be fine based on the load that would be stretching that section. Same load stretching the bolts in a flex (not the twist), with a much smaller cross sectional area than the original part you've broken. It's why you'd need to be using higher strength bolts, but that's just making up for the strength you lose with less area...
    • I am truly amazed someone on this planet was able to cycle the pump using a scan tool. I've always ghetto cycled them on Nissan 90s shit boxes by slamming the brakes and pulling the handbrake to agitate the rear wheels enough to cause a speed difference
