Ill put my money on the R35

I agree, the R35 motor seems to look superior in each and every way to the RB26. how much power will it handle? we can only wait to find out.

3.8L + 50% more capacity than rb26 = Much better drive and a shitload less lag

The 26 is a great motor, works well but none the less dated.

Cant wait to see this R35 Engines worked, So far we have seen over the 1000hp mark on the 26's... lets see

you can make any engine produce more power than another given enough money. I mean honda made 1.5l F1 engines that made well over 1000hp out of their puny capacity.

mod for mod an R35 is always going to be ahead of the 32. it simply has more goodies to start with. for an all out drag car neither will be as good as most hardcore toranas out there. so that comparison is kind of useless.

The answer is the driver/owner with the most money.

If you want a logical breakdown of it...the VR38 has more potential than the RB26 as an engine. But the R32 will come up trumps in a drag race assuming unlimited money/modifications simply because it's a smaller/lighter chassis than the R35. Weight means much more in drag racing than engine displacement and power because there's only so much you can do with the weight of a vehicle - power is only limited to your bank account and there is a point you get to where more of it doesn't equal a faster time because of various reasons, traction being one of them. There's nothing incredible about the VR38, beyond being a Nissan engine...it's the rest of the car that makes it work so well.

But the VR38DETT is an incredible engine, straight out from factory (stock), the R35 GTR is violently fast down the track, for response, low down, mid range to top end.

It can easily take on highly modified RB26's while the VR38DETT is still stock.

Best Motoring did a "Generations Battle" at Tsukuba Circuit, where the R35 GTR was put up against highly modified GTR's.

As Birds said, the only let down is the weight of the R35 GTR.

As for tuned R35 vs tuned R32, if both were tuned for equal in power and weight, it would be a very close race.

In theory, I still see the R35 GTR having a slight advantage due to it's Wider Wheel Base, giving it more stability on the track.

Wow to see them all in the same second time with all the diff KW outage.Strange i would think almost 100kw diff at the wheels is a HUGE difference in speed. And the 295kw R32 I dont really consider HIGHLY modified, I thought the r35 stock was about 320kw Stock standard?? but anyway thats Interesting Thanks for that i would of loved to see that race!

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful         
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
