Mister25t
Nice looking exhaust. Getting close to being done now. Going to be awesome to see how it performs and sounds! r33_racer
Cheers. Will defs be giving some when its going. Plus alot of videos! Welded on the new egt bungs tonight on top of the old stainless ones. Went to bolt everything up and remembered I need to heat wrap the damn extractors and port match the farkers to the head, along with my copper gaskets I made last week. The compressor at home is shit and doesnt hold enough air to die grind, so its going to be a tomorrow at work job! Once that port matching and wrapping is done tomorrow the whole exhaust system from head to tip can be bolted back up and photographed! Its tucked up nice and high and shouldnt cause any issues with bottoming out over speed bumps. I really like this exhaust. Its gotta be the first one thats actually turned ou exactly how I wanted it. Apart from the extractors lol. They were just an abortion! r33_racer
I wish i was! I fitted the supercharger, intake and charge pipe up. Had to goop up some faces for better sealing. But thats all done for the last time....hopefully. I put the radiator in and fitted up the accusump and started some of the plumbing. Ran into an issue with the new oil filter and spent the rest of the night trying to nut out where to put it and then made bracketry and got it bolted up. Also bolted the intercooler up. No doubt I would have got more done had I not run into any issues.....but shit happens! The weekend should be more promising. Apart from Sunday as I want to goto Mercury's dyno day and see whats going on. Noddy
so the blue thing is the acusump? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/306959-rb25de-supercharged-project/page/8/#findComment-5328819 Share on other sites
r33_racer
Yeh not too much longer to go! Bang on Noddy. The big blue canister behind the intercooler is the accusump. 3qt unit. Fits nicely in there. The smaller one infront is their inline oil filter unit. r33_racer
Lol, I am hurrying Noel. My car is outside anyway, there is enough room to start working on the race car. I think its just too cold for him to do anything. More then likely it will probably be me doing most of it once my car is done. Im probably the only one silly enough to get down on cold concrete and not even think about getting sick! The old man is well....old and all he worries about is his health! So here is where im at as of tonight. You can see my dodge attempt at fitting the intake back up to the supercharger inlet. Im not proud of it, but I didnt have time to go into major surgery, hopefully it will do until I can get around to modifying the intake to just a 4 inch bend with a normal size pod filter! Check out the ebay 80mm TB I got. Seems to be the same unit alot of others use and apart from a couple of dodgy bearings which I had to replace and a new tps drive which I had to fabricate (see last update for picture) it seemed to be quite good for the money spent! I dont know if anybody else has got one and had it very tight to open, to the point it wouldnt close via return spring but mine was abit woeful. After pulling the whole thing apart and doing some measuring it turned out the bearing bore tolerance was too tight and as a result there was excessive crush, so much so that when you pressed the bearing in you couldnt turn the inner race by hand, infact even with just the shaft through them you could barely turn it still. After alot of polishing of the shaft and some light skimming off the outer race of the new bearings it all came good. The throttle shaft was also slightly oversize! The good news was it had the same bolt pattern as a Q45 and fit directly onto my greddy plenum! If you are looking at one, those problems could very well be present. Though chances are I just got a shit last off the line unit.
