i was in group 6.

sorry to here about your brake dramas, calder is always pretty hard on them.

did anyone else think that the guy in the black BMW M3 with the load exhaust was a complete wanker? he past me on the freeway on the way home after the event, and it was like he was still on the track! he was driving at full noise, ducking and diving between the traffic. im sorry, but ive got no time in the world for idiots like that! what a looser!

(just my 2c...)

yeah Roy it's back to stock now.. I've sold a lot of parts but kept a few bits for my next track toy... but it's a shame just when the car was all sorted for punching out some quick times I split an oil cooler hose and dumped half my sump oil around philip island.. after that I just had enough and made the decision to sell everything. I'm working on a new project which will be a lot of fun when it's finished later this year

wow, i know you had a run bad luck with the car, but i cant belive that you can let something as minor as that get to you so much that you sell off the car! you had a real good thing going there. but at the end of the day its your decision and i respect that.

its good to hear youve got another project on the cards. dare i ask, whats the new project?

bye the way, has anyone got pics from last night? i noticed there were a couple of people on different corners with cameras.

had a great time, luckily no dramas with the car apart from some tired tyres. would have liked to get a few more sessions in but otherwise well organised event.

hanging to check out the night pics.. u keep stalking that forum john hehe

Had a ball!!

Thanks to everyone involved with running the event - considering the amount of entries we were never going to get the amount of track time that I've become used to, but it was run very well.

After not doing an event at Calder for ages it was good to see that some money had actually been spent at the place. I was hoping for a lap time in the 1min 5sec bracket but with the traffic and cobwebs I could only manage a PB of 1:06.02. Considering that was at night I have no doubt that a 1.05 is possible in my car. Sorry to hear about peoples mechanical/electrical issues and I hope that it was nothing too serious.

Hopefully someone with a camera there managed that elusive shot of a black car with glowing brake rotors :D

I absolutely LOVE the induction noise from those little 2lts. I was flagging at teh end of the front straight in the arvo, and on downshift throttle blips I was in heaven, not to mention between turns 1 and 2 where you were royally up it at one stage. Sounds fantastic @9k rpm

Yeah was good fun, my best of a 1:10 was with (what I hope) dodgy coil packs,

started loosing power up high b4 I jsut started missing on heavy acceleration.

oh well new ones here tomorrow, bang em in and see how that goes.

Never seen so many cameras at one track tho.

Other than the mechanical issues. I ahve to say was not overly impressed with the grouping for the night.

granted not many people ahve had a chance to run Calder b4 to give a time estimate, but when there is 20+ sec difference in lap times within a group on a 60sec ish track, made it very hard to put in a clean lap.

that said, I ahve unfinsihed buiness with this track now!

Im glad i could entertain you, i must admit the old Vtec doesnt sound too bad in full song.

i was having a bit of trouble with oversteer throughout the day/night. the back was stepping out constantley! :D

Hey mate, I was running in your group and was really impressed with the S2000, was bloody quick for a stock car!

richo, how do you fall under standard RWD? I'm, intrigued!

the car is standard as per sau vic rules.

engine, inj, fuel pump are stock. turbo is highflow, only coz the damn thing blew at winton. running street tyres.

vssc is allowing r-comp for standard class... :)

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
