I loved the 300ZX, just not the reliability. The Supra does nothing for me.

yeah but the 300ZX has an engine bay that's more cramped than a GTO and is almost as heavy.

why have one colour when you can have em all shan? hmmm?

cos its bad enough being dark skinned, the last thing I need is the ASIO thinking I'm driving around in some camo urban assault vehicle.

"Hey you guise check out my new car"

"psssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww"

"What's that noise?"

"ICBM splooooooooooooooode"

"FFFFUUUU damn you ASIO!!"

I didn't say the ZX didn't have a cramped engine bay :) That's why I'm not keeping it. But a GTO is worse given that there are no real GTO specialists around and not much of a local community to save my ass when something breaks.

The AWD thing does entice me though...

What do you think of GTOs?

What do you think of GTOs?

the AWD on GTO's suck donkey balls.

Its an american car Dodge 3000GT or some shit like that, sold as a Mitsi in japan cos mitsi produced it for Dodge. It drives like an american car, it handles like an american car, it looks like an american car, but it's powered by a pissy little japanese motor.

You do the math.

The only people who drive it are lebs and people who want an american sports car on a japanese budget.

I wouldn't piss on one if it was on fire.

Some somali dudes rocked up to Driftline with a GTO... saying he had boost problems. We told him to find a priest and turned him away. Mind you he had some ghetto mods that looked like they had put together with a hammer and shovel.

wtf jspec says that r33 gts4 are not eligible for import? how the hell did they get here then?

cos they don't meet power to weight ratio requirements of current laws. They were eligible a while back, and some sneak into the country unnoticed (cos you'd only get caught out if they audited the compliance) under the current scheme.

lol alex, I took my car to a few soccer matches on the weekend... I also have some experience with gravel dirt pot holes. I like your zip tie job, nice choice of colours lmao

yehh lol i got 400 zipties incase ya neeed any heaps of colours too haha

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
