bmwvan_7.jpg

I'm a van... I'm a van... suck my diiiiiiiiiiiick... I'm a van.

I was just saying...

Don't worry :D

I know your cars a wingless.

BMW make vans..?

hey thanks scotty

how many pages is it

the one im looking for should be 150+ pages

its 204 pages and when you scroll to page 4 it says modification notice: GTR model has been introduced, i went through it a bit and it has the whole engine diagram and stuff like that.

yeah?

link me so i can see.... major cbf to look for myself atm

i think you should do it right and go defi, it will go well with your car and you wont have these fake defi ones and think damn i wish i waited a bit longer and just got defi's.

I couldn't spend the money on defis.. just a gauge really they are so expensive.. I got cheap mechanical boost gauge and works fine.. hits 10PSI and stops like the car should

thats fair enough, im the opposite when i see something i want ill save up and get it i wont settle for second best, i like to buy the best when i can.

Also is that all that your gtr is running on 10psi?

yeh mate 10-11 psi AFAIK there is a 10 psi restrictor in it which is indicated by a yellow band on one of the 'boost tubes' (not sure what they are actually called >_<)

if i had a 34 gtr then might be a different story with gauges though :D , i would spend money on accessories depending on how much the car is worth in the first place i guess.. my general rule is to spend half the cars value doing it up.. IE if you buy a 10k GTST then spend like 5k max on mods.. or else your just throwing money away just my 2cents.

like my brother got his GTST for like 14k.. and has spent like 14k on it over the last few years on things like rims performance mods etc.. and now his kicking himself he didn't just buy a GTR.

dont need gauges for r34 gtr, i got the screen :O

thats a good rule to go by with mods too.

i didnt think you could ever find a gtr still with the boost restrictor in lol. mine was removed before i got it and it runs 1 bar and sometimes peaks a bit higher which im assuming is normal.

Yeah i probably will go defi

want a boost gauge and oil pressure too

pics when i find my cam cable

well hurry the fuck up then

I think I'm queen of breaking that rule. Over $80,000 on a car that cost me $10,000. But I've had it for a long time.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
