gentlementlemen...

just gave a counter offer on:

1976-Nissan-Fairlady-Z_1.jpg

http://www.j-spec.com.au/featured/fairlady-z-11157.html

FUCK YEAH

Seller came back with a offer that was good enough to accept. just putting some last minute vice clamps on his nuts to squeeze a better price.

:D

FUCK YEAH!

L28 board to 3100cc

Do it!

He said it was a kakimoto 3.1L. not sure if it's a genuine one or a replica using LD28 crank, honda pistons etc.

said I'd buy pending on the mechanic inspection, gotta get the guy out there into hickville country japan. will know then.

apparently makes 215rwkw :D not bad for an old clunker.

lol i completely forgot I had inquired about this car, until it got brought up in the "300zx vs GTR... engine out fun" thread. Couple of phonecalls later and I jizzed my pants.

wow. remember when you gave me shit for almost buying a c110. yeah. f**k you old man!

lol that's cos I'm not gonna be restoring or modding anything. buy, import, tune, drive. the end.

If it's genuine 3.1 kit, you're essentially sitting on gold mine...

I've owned one before in the C10. Didn't realise it was a gen until I opened the bonnet (this was back in the day when we bought shit sight unseen). Hence the $5000 profit once it got here.

no sell? good

looks like charles got to that Ferrari

im still kicking myself for not buying adz's c110... or that restored road/track 260z 2+2 with the l28 etc etc stripped, half cage, semis and watanabe copies for 4.5k

you should own a regular car before you take on the headaches of a classic.

put it this way, this car's gonna be driven hard once a week. if it breaks it'll go into a workshop while I drive a daily. you, on the other hand don't have that luxury.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
