driving v8 supercar aound sandown in a few weeks, going to flog the shit out of them. 6 laps (and yes i get to drive)

Lol you stooge. You do realize it's just an ss stripped out with a cage and bucket seats. Not a real v8 supercar. Your GTR will feel quicker

does it have 400fwrwkws like my cousins na gemmy? :P

the v8 supercar i drove had slicks, cage, full dash install, all the usual safety shit and tons of power

it certainly wasnt a 600+hp supercar, but it wasnt a 200hp one either

youll enjoy it, they are pretty sweet and go alright

Yeah i was a bit underwhelmed when i did that drive day too. It had wide slicks so it actually cornered reasonably well though, wasn't expecting that!

lol i know its not a real v8 supercar, still will be flogging the shit out of it and not worrying about anything it was a christmas gift :)

So what was the issue?

Well my mechanic tried to spin both wheels. The left one spun. The right didn't.

Turns out the handbrake was on BUT wasn't functioning on the left side so he got confused.

Soooo.... Haunted Hills today was awesome, despite my ridiculously stretched tyres and absurd camber I managed to be only .2 of a second slower than our El presidente Ash ;) hahahaha

nice! where the pics brooo?

haha s'all good.

Give me some pointers on low-ballin. How much higher is the stated price range compared to the absolute minimum someone will accept it for :P

haha yeh depends on the house, location and most of all the sellers motivation. If you see somethign you like link me i may have a contact within the agency selling it to get you a no bs idea on where its at.

I found that stated price ranges were usually much lower than the price the people were after - to draw people in

yeh that happens out east and inner west a fair bit its bs its all private sale where i am thankfully - much easier for buyer /seller. You can grab a bargain at auction though particurarly when the market is favouring buyers like now.

pretty pro mechanic..

those drive days are all different

i remember a thread on here about 2 years ago where someone went on one and he was only allowed to use 3rd and 4th, even in corners, and was not allowed to heal-toe...

so after like 3 laps he came into a corner hot and heel-toe'd it and got kicked out on the spot lol

yeh its fun but still not quick enough have done at calder and they only let you use 3rd and 4th gear the brakes are good though and you will want more laps

Lol f**k I wanna take my car there! Seems like he knows his shit :ninja:

You should try my old mechanic

Things they f**ked up:

- Passing a roadworthy when I had f*cked wheel bearings (wheel nearly fell off), bald tyres and crazy positive camber due to bent strut

- Putting BBQ gas in my mate's MR2. Compressor lasted 15 hours before it broke.

- Telling me that my engine number didn't match what was on my rego

- Setting my mate's idle so low that it stalled every time he stopped at the lights (car was running fine before he got it serviced)

- Scratched my Supra's paintwork and denied it

- Didn't tighten my wheel nuts. I was able to remove them with my fingers alone.

And somehow they still have a good name and charge through the roof. My new mech is much better :)

    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
