Stone grill eye fillet @ Paesanos Knox, don't question it, just do if you haven't already. I have these almost weekly, it's a terrible addiction. You cannot top the advantages of cooking it yourself (instantly) to perfection, having the actual meal come out in 15 minutes, and having a permanently hot meal. $30 for 250-300 gram eye fillet (varies on the day, but a good size and always good quality meat) including sauce and chips/salad. An extra $15 will get you another piece of meat (never done this, so don't know if it's the same size or not). I've been to most of the well known steak restaurants in Melbourne and the only ones that have come close IMO in terms of taste / overall quality are $50-60 for a piss small eye fillet not including sauce etc. Outback Jacks was decent but it had me wishing I hadn't ventured outside of my comfort zone.

You have to cook it yourself?

and 300g is a snack...

+1 dezz.

I think 300g is acceptable for lunch (coz I eat 7 meals a day) but if I've waited long enough for dinner, I'm gonna want a shitload more than that.

but you're tiny! have you grown from the last time i saw you?

eye fillet is always small though, unless you wanna pay big $

Went to this place in Richmond called Vlado's for a mate's birthday once...you pay $90 a head and you get like 4-5 courses I think

first is a home made sausage

then they bring out a plate of small pieces of different meats (eye fillet, pork and lamb I think) with bread etc...

then the main course you can either have the eye fillet, or the porterhouse...I got the eye fillet, and it was the biggest eye fillet I've ever eaten (apart from when I cut my own at home)... then dessert

When I go out for dinner/lunch I get a porterhouse 95% of the time, sometimes rib eye, sometimes rump (outback jack's rump steak was actually very nice)

usually try to get at least 400g or I feel like I need another meal..

checking out this Mrs Parma's joint tonight...

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
