140 would be max. But u may find it a bit cooler on the track with 2 laps. We r talking about 5mins max on load. Not. 10-15 min moutain run.

No cooler is not ideal, but safely safely as she goes would be the plan. Catch tank for gtr is what u want tho, from what ive seen the stockers blow a bit (5-6 have done this, u end up with oil dripping from the pods)

My gtst never got over 100deg with the cooler.

Hamish that is hawt!!!

Also i run down a smurf, ran him through the blender and he is know lubing my gearbox :P

so anywhere in the first section is fine? see below pic:

max ive seen it go up is like 3/4 through the first section bit.

Martin said bring a stock GTR and win a trophy by default as most are modded haha :D

Cool

In other news, wanting to go to winton next month for sau championship - how hot can my engine oil get to safely? because I probably wont have oil cooler installed by then so was thinking of doing hard lap then 2 slow ones or something? or am I being to soft I do notice the gauge go up a fair bit during a hill run when i'm not even pushing the car that hard at all is 140 ish safe to be running on?

hey, im planing on doing winton also dont know how hot the car will get there........but after running it at calder on a 26 degree day and seeing the temp gauge nearly hitting 150 will deff be putting in a oil cooler

all my 6-7 laps were flat out no break fade no real loss of power the car is running motul 300v like john said prob safer doing 2laps on /off but i couldn't resist the speed the car didn't seem to mind too much but wouldn't do it again! mmaybe

my gearbox love's smurfs blood give me more!!!

well, i wasn't broke till i went back to singapore, and lost my waiter job because i left for too long a time..

but yeah, i'm a broke gt-r owner.. a happy one though, just broke..

And i'm saving for a trip to f*kuoka in dec, to have the BEST takoyaki in the whole f**king world.

aight

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
