its not quite the same, but very close. a 2835 is pretty much just an HKS modified 3071.

in today's economic climate, the 3071 is definately the better choice, however when i got my 2835 direct from japland the yen was at 103

Here's a reading out of a PU high flowed turbo in Max power profile based in .82 bolton turbine housing. Made 290rwkws on 19psi. The car's dyno tuned straight turbo installation which is supposedly to be tuned after 200KMs of driving. So the actual curve should be shifted by 300RPM or 8.5KM/H to the left after run in.

I think it can squeeze out another 30kws on 22psi. Customer's very concert about his engine so we left as it is.

But any way, 300rwkws on stock comp housing that looks EPA legal is achievable.

Here is my mates HKS T51R low mounted - one of the biggest bastards you could use on the street, black and stealth, he hasn't been done.

For a bit of extra concealment for mine I will be fabricating a new stainless heat shield for the rear half of the turbo and the front half with be mostly concealed by a Fiberglass Air guide I will make which will "guide air to the airbox from between the headlights" but will sit nicely on top of the boost control and reach over the turbo inlet. (Even though most of the bay is shiney, this air guide will be black)

low mount 3071R in mine... heatshield is off... the cops know where the skyline's standard turbo is so after the BOV they go straight to the turbo...

have been defected three times now... but never for the turbo itself...

Im running hks2540, looks stock, cops never pick on it, its the way to go, it even passed epa full emissions test with the factory heat shield on and everything else standard )

What do you need to change in a skyline to get it running on E85 guys?

is it worth doing?

Doesn't the car actually have to have been driven to be defected? LOL

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
