I have read this thread with interest and am happy to see that the majority of forum members have sensible opinions about this incident.

I have yet to offer my opinion on the matter to date, apart from agreeing with some others.

So therefore without further hesitation I would like to announce:

MINES_DATSUN - you win B-Man's TOOL OF THE YEAR ! ! ! ( and it is only Janurary - he he :D )

Oh, and here's some tips for you :

(I've listed them all out so you can print them out and put the print out by your bedside and recite it before you go to sleep)

Please do not fix your car

Please do not get another Skyline

Please enroll in Advanced Driver Training

Please get a job and earn money to pay for your next car (and insurance, see point below)

Please do not rely on your parents to bail you out all the time

Please insure your next car with that Insurance Company out of the Cayman Islands

Please find another interest other than cars (Girls are good !) (SAU Fathers, lock up your daughters......:-( )

Please go post on other forums - you waste bandwidth with the amount of attention you attract.

Please throw away all you G-Tech Pros that you use to measure how fast you are going on public roads.

Please think about how many people you could have killed (including yourself) if you the situation was different.

Please think about how you affected all other Skyline owners insurance premiums with your contribution to the increase in 'stupid immature dumb things eva done by 20 year olds with a quarter of a brain'

Please think seriously about taking your perceived ability to drive to the track where you can't do anything else but wreck your own car.

Please do not break the road laws any more - they are there for a reason

Please do not break the age:power to weight ration any more - there is a reason for that too.

Please turn yourself into the authorities for all of the above - maybe they can help you ?

Please ??

i cant belive this shit happens around the world too thought it was just here

parent buy the kid a fast car

he goes racing (or doing something stupid)

crashes it , gets killed or paralyzed

if nothing happens to him go back to strep one

gee , i mean if you cant drive properly then dont drive

and a gtr is too much for you as it is too much for me , maybe you should get a a RB20E (not even a DE) skyline with an auto tranny to get you started not a gtr .

wish the best for my self with 90% of the crazy drivers here.

cheers and condelences (to the poor bus stop)

Holy crap, is this going to be one of those famous internet "Read what this stupid fcukwit did..." threads that gets posted around from forum to forum until we have people signing up from all over the world just to say hi in this thread?!?!

SAU IS GOING TO BE FAMOUS!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks MINES_DATSUN!!! :D

the previous car i had before was a 355 xcop vt commodore.. rid that off.

now its this r33 and i hope my r32 wont be ridden off ...

the reason why there was all wires near the boost gauge ( as you can see it was a gauge lieng around) was becasue my wires were getting fixed about 10 minutes before the accident. ill have full spec details on the car (images) .

i have had ylwgtr2 to come over and have a look with his professional assitance i now have plans on what im doing to get this beast back on the streets

thanks for all the flaming and i appreciate the people wishing me luck next time.

Cheers

um, can you please tell us wtf a 355 xcop vt commo is? if you mean 355 cu. in. WRONG!! if its a vt series one, it'll be a 304 cu. in. (5.0 lt) if its a series 2 it'll be a 350 cu.in. (5.7lt)... or do you mean kw... cuz they still aren't up that high!!!

to tell you the truth i can probably drive a car better then all you 20 year olds in SAU. not the old dudes in here no way.

all i have to say i was unlucky. now shut your frigin mouths and stop flooding SAU with bullcrap thats already been said by people 90times.

Cheers

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day
    • While I was waiting for the new parts to come in for the charge pipe and radiator I decided to do some turbo modification. The drive pressure (exhaust backpressure) was a lot higher that I thought it should be. For 32lbs of boost drive was 55lbs. The turbine housing is a 1.10AR and my turbo builder has suggested to go to a 1.25AR. To test if a larger AR would do anything to reduce drive pressure AND not spend any money I decided to hog out the divider in my current housing. I removed it from the inlet and the whole way through the housing.  After reassembly and testing it doesn't look like this modification did anything for reducing drive pressure or requiring more fuel (making more power). Oh well, it was worth a shot. We'll get some data at the track if it makes it past the 60ft. I also machined a $7 shift knob off Amazon to fit my Stillway shifter since I didn't like the Stillway shift knob. Next on the list was the radiator replacement and fabrication of a new intercooler tube that had no silicon coupler. No pictures of this - I was short on time each night after work to get this done and didn't stop to take pictures.  Next was to get the clutch disks out and replaced. Previously when installing the dogbox I had ordered a set of the same sintered iron disks I had been running because I switched to the 26-spline input shaft. I thought it was odd that they didn't have any markings or brand name on them like all my old disks had but installed them anyway. At the track I could not get the clutch to lock up using my normal strategies. After two track nights I reached out to the clutch manufacturer and ask their thoughts. They said they had to switch the material out because they were having trouble getting the original material and that this new material would not take to being slipped very well.  So out with the first set of 26-spline disks and in with the correct material 26-spline disks. While I had the trans out I added an inspection/service hole. I've wanted one of these for a while. Now I can have a look at things and change the front cover shimming when needed (clutch wear). I hustled and got the clutch change done in a few hours on a Saturday. Hopped in the car and drove home. On the way home I did a 1-3 pull. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd the core plug in the back of the cylinder head popped out and dumped all the coolant. Thankfully I was only 30 seconds from home and coasted it there. Datalog showed nothing unusual and 2.5psi of coolant pressure. That plug has been in there since 1992 but I guess it worked its way out. Pulled the trans AGAIN and replaced the plug, JB welded it in, and made a brace. Also deleted the head drain I had added in during the bearing issue fiasco.  I am currently changing my boost control plumbing to make it cleaner. After that is done I'll make another attempt at getting past the 60.
    • Are you 100% sure this isn't tune related?
    • 140-150 across the board. At this point hoping the grounding harness fixes it. My grounds are all tied to the chassis and none to the battery. For SR and KA that’s never been a problem for me but had a few other guys here and Reddit who told me RB really like a very solid ground setup tied to the battery so going to try that next, I’m stumped if that doesn’t do it. Never had a car have spark and fuel and not fire off before. Only thing I can think is the spark is intermittent/weak because of grounds nothing else really makes sense at this point
    • I am having close to the same issue. Can you help me with what wire you grounded to get your pump to trigger?
