^^^dont listen to beer baron he has no idea what he's talking about EVER.

:D

haha

nah they ARE rare but not one in 30... i perosnally think that's a BIT unrealistic... sorry rich!

there's a few locally for sale at the moment.. they're a bit old being 1992 twin turbos... personally if i were you i wouldn't be looking at anything older that a 1994 series 1.5 - and even at that point i wouldn't accept anything other than 202 black... and Lpackage if you can...

however i also wouldn't rule out importing.. you can get lucky.. i spent AGES waiting for "the one" but when "my one" came up i ended up getting a very nice white one for my mum n dad..

right now there are a few good 'uns coming up..

2000 FINAL BUILD manual vvti turbo - 86,000km but graded R - i would be careful buying an Rgrade but never know it may be a good repair and it may have been a light hit! - slammed and has weds sport rims :)

01004_002.jpg

or this 202 black 99 manual .. grade 4 with 80,000km - goes up for auction today but this car's been getting passed in for three weeks in a row so i doubt it will be selling today

10097_002.jpg

...of this week's 10 soarers that i can see that are coming up for auction - 4 are manual... so they're not THAT rare...

IF YOU ARE looking for a cheap one - and don't mind driving it home from perth...

...my mate josh is selling a vvti manual for a stupidly low price of 10grand... PM me for more info.

EDIT:

not that i think you're in the market for one - but IF YOU ARE in the market for one... why do you want a manual??? i don't think i would enjoy these in a manual :s

it just seems weird.. all the luxury features and cushy comfort and electronics... to be paired up with a manual would just be weird..

the auto trans on these is sooooo smooth - personally i find it comparable to even modern euro auto transmissions..

Sorry to bring up the fact that my mum drives a soarer Eps :D lol

But the auto box has a pretty major lag in gears changing up if you floor it, its a 92 model though, did the later ones not have this?

so eps.... do they make these for men?

no.

marlin - LOL!!! thermonuclear burn!

and other guy - (i tried to remember name)

my mum used to have a 92 TT soarer - those gearboxes lag terribly compared to the vvti... the early models "sludge" through their gears, the vvti really SNAPS but it's a movement that you don't really notice..

like it just sorta clicks through effortlessly.. that said, it's mostly the same gearbox.. so i would suggest check the trans fluid.. a common mistake that many mechanics will make is use dexron III in the soarers because "thats what the manual says" however that's specific to the V8 i beleive...

the twin turbos require a TTF fluid - without it they kinda spaz out in a bad way. but also she should / you should do an ECU reset for her and make sure you reset the trans ECU while you're at it..

it will / should drive like a dream after that.. but if the gearbox is driving like a dog then it could be a number of things - these two suggestions are the most common issues that the trans will have though :D

sorry i took so long i was out and about...

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH see what i did there???

yup...

THERE GOES YOUR THEORUM. :(

to answer you properly... no... ..

...no i don't.

LOL at "other guy"

And yea hers is the v8 anyway, forgot to mention. Its not BAD, it just takes its time to actually change gear lol

Probably seems terrible to me when i drive it because i drive a manual 33 everywhere, but i was just curious as to wether they tightened things up a little in the later models.

I know my mate has a turbo soarer and the auto has a shift kit in it which makes it change instantly, so if they changed anything it wouldnt have been major im sure

blah blah blah somthing about a manual.

I hate my auto, would much rather a manual one, but the asking price for a factory manual is stupid, and looked at converting mine, buy the raginghomo soarer owners are asking $5k for a conversion kit which include:,

a 200,000k old stock clutch and rusty flywheel

a JZA70 spec R154 (which doesnt fit properly)

a modified JZA70 clutch pedal (doesnt fit properly)

and a bucket of rusty bolts

So I will live with my auto lol

so it's here. it's lowered. and has had the pustulent lights back to OEM. and has wheels.

BIG THANKS to Aaron @ importmonster for all the help!

soarer.jpg

Hmmmmm... Palm trees and a soarer. I bet if that shot was wide screen we'd see a couple of maori lads lurkin around.

lol - they're cropped out of the photo bruu

they're in the background with the following things:

baggy polo shirts - the bottom half is dark blue, the top half is hi-vis orange

cargo shorts. with pockets. EVERYWHERE.

oakley bug eye sunnies.

and desert boots.

and they're standing around smoking darts. not saying a word.

...i was watching police ten 7 lastnight - the NZ version of cops. that show is hilarious. seriously to me that show is champagne comedy.

what OTHER show on tele can you see some d1ckhead steal a Cefiro, try to run from a police helicopter, get attacked by a dog, taken down, THEN beat up a cop???

what other show can you see a bunch of 16 year old maori gang go from stabbing other gang members to being taken to the cop shop after spitting, punching, swearing at and kicking police officers, to be taken into custody...

...only to see their parents come in and beat the living sh1t out of their kids on TV... it's hilarious!!!!

Motorway Patrol is quite possibly the best tv show ever made, ever.. except for Naked and Funny.

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
