I'd recomend Chasers to anyone on here, they built/tuned my 400kw GTR and the response of the car is unbeleivable!!!

These guys run a good operation and will go out of their way to help, even if it means working around the clock.

status all the way
I'd go with Status mainly cause Trent comes on here quite a bit and gives helpful advice to people and never tries to talk himself or his business up!

Trent mate, Status tunning... Trents tuned my car for 2 years now never had a problem, been beating my car at the track and its still running fine! i garentee you! best customer service.

+1 :P

its funny how u say that seeing ur car is at sabadins lol

Yup, it's only there cos Trent is too busy to do mechanical work this big and that soon, Rob was able to do it for me.

I ended up getting Trent to tune my GTR.

that's probably a good point to raise, Chequered/Status tuning don't do mechanical anymore - so if it's more than a tune, that might help your decision. I mean, Trent will do 'mechanical' if it relates to tuning your car, but you can't really rock up for a clutch change etc anymore.

trent is a mate and has spent countless hours on my car, so i will rep him till the cows come home :ninja: his tunes are as good as you will get and he specialises in nistune.

chasers are also excellent. paul has been flown overseas to tune cars on multiple occasions

you really can go wrong with either option

yeap. always happy with the work trent does. you tell him what you want and he will try his best to deliver it. my prefious car was tuned by him and even with the new owner the car is still going strong and will continue to be looked after by trent.

where are you located? the workshops you mention are on opposite sides of melbourne..

chasers has opend up a new shop in mitcham.

im actually considering in getting them to work on my new car now purly because they are 5min down the road from my work. makes life a hole lot easier.

OP its always tough trying to figure out where to send your car when you know nothing about tunning and tuners. only thing to do is taking the plunge and taking it somewhere.

trent did the the nistune on my stagea very happy with his work for $877.00 which included changing the spark plugs and dropping the front shaft he only has R.W.D hub dyno ,drive in drive out no waiting to getting your ecu sent off to get the board fitted..He may not answer your calls he could be still in vegas on his honeymoon ...

awsome thanks for the help guys i was told the other day to get my exhaust and intercooler done before i get it done so it might be a cupple of months as im doing the exhaust with the tax return and intercooler after that then depending on when i sell my snake and lizards / encloser then ill have the money for the nistune but im looking forward to it

Yeah Chasers have opened up a new work shop in Mitcham but all the tuning gets done in West Melbourne. So it's only mechanical in Mitcham.

Take it to Paul and if there are other issues with the car mechanically then you know the job will be done in no time. One time they finished tuning my car at 6pm on a Saturday! Most parts are either there already or they can get them very quickly, there quality can't be faulted. Also it's best to find a mechanic and stick to them. Having a mechanic that has done all the work and knows your car makes it a lot easier to work with.

- Trent @ Status/Chequered Tuning for tuning

- Rob @ Sabaddin Automotive for mechanical

As mentioned above by others, Trent doesn't have the time to do mechanical work and is really a "tuning" workshop only. Trent did some mechanical work for me a couple of years back (A1 work and was extremely cheap, who would of thought A1 can also = cheap?). But yeah, if he still was able fit in mechanical work I would continue to take it there. I would also be happy to pay more. Work is faultless!

I have also have a good run with Rob. All my mechanical work gets done there and trust him with my car. Had a few glitches with his newbie apprentice/s (because I'm one anal cnt) although Rob rectified the issues happily.

That's my two cents :D

Cheers,

Andy

+11ty billion for Trent. He did my NIStune tune after I installed it all. I work late (finish at 7pm) and he hung around on a Friday until I got there (drove from Hawthorn) then got my car hooked up to his AWESOME Chassis dyno and tuned away. He even did an Oil and Filter change for me before it (very cheap motul 300v from him) I think we finished up at about 11pm - Tell me another workshop/tuner that will do that for a customer that has never been there before!

i think you should go and speak to each shop and make up your own mind and decision. Im in the same boat, spoke to trent, paul and sam from dr drift and made up my mind. There is suprisingly price difference (300+)for the nistune therefore, being on tight budget, that was considered as well as reputation.

I dont know why people get one workshop to do the mechanical works and another to do the tuning, in Sabbadin's case, Rob is a fantastic tuner and over many many years and various types / brands of cars I have modded, Rob has provided each car with a brilliant tune for not only daily driving but also track work.

I can understand if you want a specific ecu in your car that Rob was not fond of or confident with, but I have had PFC, Motec, SAFC, Wolf etc and each and every tune has been prefect for my needs.

My opinion is for all workshops, I think you should take your car to one workshop you trust and let them start and finish the car. I know I wouldnt be happy if I did all the hard work on a car and then my customer sent his car to someone else for a tune.

Just my opinion

Well you have to remember that not all workshops do mechanical work as well as tuning and vis versa, so at the end people are going to give it to a workshop to do a job that it has a good rep for, they might be known as great engine builders but not so known for tuning but then again there are workshops that can do it all. So it comes down to the limits and what the workshop you choose offers whether you stick to everthing there or you out source for specific things.

    • I can ship Nismo floor mats to you: https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/nismo-floor-mats-for-skyline-r33-bcnr33-stagea-wgnc34?_pos=1&_sid=9278c1467&_ss=r
    • Here's the link: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6642/misc/G49?frame_no=WGNC34-137122 What you think about it? The same product i found on nengun: https://www.nengun.com/oem/parts/40567/MiPwn5qAMfCfmpxHNDnwn5q9MDAx8J-QiW9sZC1qcC0xMTAtRzQ5LS0wMDE/Floor+Carpet+%2F+Mat+2/0688339eba149c19 Bot i have spoken to 😅 ensured me, that mats are 100% original, oem product. I have my doubts. I also heard what you mentioned, that nengun often offers items that are actual not available... On the other hand mats i found on japanese yahoo or ebay are in poor condition and still quite expensive so i'd rather wait for some better offers. My location - Poland. We literaly don't have ANY market for used Stagea parts so need to search outside Europe.
    • You can’t see much on the other side as the lcd is there I don’t think it’s the same as the m33 beside it as the markings on top is not the same was hoping someone had a good quality photo or if they just happened to have the unit in hand, quickly take the cover off and take a photo to clearly show the marking on top to identify the diode   the unit is currently with an electronics repair shop so I can’t take another photo at the moment hopefully they are smart enough to know if it’s a zener diode or not
    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
