Hey guys,

Thought I'd have a crack at organizing an event.

I have contacted Village in terms of trying to get a group discount and am waiting on the reply of the cinema manager and will let you guys know.

Meet location: Apple Peel Car Wash - 1 Fitzsimons Lane, Templestowe

Meet Time: 7:30-8pm, Friday 23/07/2010

Leaving time: 8:30pm SHARP, as most sessions are around the 9:20-9:30pm mark and if there is alot of us we will all need to pay at the booth.

Destination: 155 Newlands Rd, Coburg

Movie: Inception, see plot below

Movie running time: Approx 140 minutes

Map: Provided below

I chose this movie to pretty much guarantee that no one will have seen it as it is being released the day before, plus the director made the dark night which was a great movie and the graphics in the second trailer below look awesome.

PLOT

...An original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled theif, the best in the dangerous art of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved.

Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible - inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse; their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime.

NOTE: There is an old style diner there where you can buy food/drinks/snacks

the battery serves one purpose.....to start the car and thats it! i dont think it would last a week if i didnt start it up lol

That seems to be my problem, too. Leave the stereo on for any more than about 3 minutes without the engine running and I'll be flagging down the next car to help give me a push.

Wow, can't believe the amount of interest so quick. this is going to be good!

Theres a bloke there that if you need a jump, he comes around for free with his jumper box and everything is good, he'll even give you a small radio too if you need, so don't worry too much...

I also have a cheapo little jumper pack ($100 one I bought) which I'll bring, it only helps if u have dropped to about 10v, anything less and you need something with more cranking power.

BTW, I have a cheap tiny battery, but it lasts about 2 hours with the sub going, so should be ok....

    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
    • EMU Classic. For what I need it to do I see no reason to upgrade. Link and Haltech would both cost an extra chunk of money for a lot of unutilized features
