hi people was just wondering if the police can tell if your car is a turbo just by checking your number plates, rerason why im asking is because my mates seem to get pulled up by the police alot more than me in there comodoores, subarus, and some stock silvias. my car is a 92 r32 gtst, full gtr body kit,18" wheels, loud zorst and a big dirty front mount sticking out, but 1 thing is i dont thrash my car in town so every body can see.

so pretty much can they tell .Cheers

Mr Stabby, if you actually read the first post I think you'll find he says he doesn't attract much attention despite all those things...

& from the looks of it, 200 was calling R32 SKYLINE GTS a f*ckwit, not the OP...

Who feels like a f*ckwit now?

I heard rumors a while ago that cops will have a sort of black list in there local town of cars that are repeat offenders

bottom line, drive like a dickhead 100% of the time, expect to get pulled over 100% of the time when a cop is nearby

but as above, all your car details are on your rego, cops have computers they can pull it up on....

most people dont tell there rego or insurance about the engine conversion( if thats what you ment about the ls1) other wise yeah the cops know

and yes when a car is reported in by any one they check it out almost everytime they see you. My mates car kept getting pulled over turned out the car used to belong to some druggies. so yes for that black list

He was asking, not complaining. How dramatic...

Haha JEA! - Wait, no..

Fail.

To the OP, the reason you're not getting pulled over all the time is because as you claim, you drive in a safe and respectable manner in the burbs. I haven't in the past and I've been nailed for it. There's something kinda cool about cruising within the limits anyways, these cars look fast while standing still.

Lots of new technology in cop cars these days-some places even have systems that that do facial recognition when they are driving past you walking down the street. Basically keeps the streets clear of bad element & behind bars if its not abused.

At the end of the day you may just find the Answer stems from political pressures more than from the Police themselves. Politicians have got it in their heads that cause we all drive flash looking cars we can afford to pay the fines so they press the Popo to harass the import market.

Most police think its BS, but when you get the order you do what your told.

Try sticking it to the whinging ol'fart's who bags out hoons acting like they have never sped or done something stupid in their driving history. Call your local pollie a bonehead for ordering automotive harassment while old ladies & kids are getting bashed or raped cause all the popo's attention is on the car nuts having fun in an industrial area late at night when no one is around.

At the end of the day we all love the brand(Nissan), so we just gotta suck it up & accept it I guess-unless I run for office & change the whole lot myself :P

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
