OK enough of that. Any more carry on will receive a warning.

Mark, sorry to see what happened, would have been great to see 2 leading skylines runs together. But as they say, "that's racing"..... I guess new shell will be easier than fixing since it is all triple skin back there, and shells are cheap.

x100, sorry to see. I saw the car running on saturday when I was down toward the end, and my oh my, she looked the goods ;)

I guess you an at least be thankful you managed to keep the front end off the wall, would have been a total disaster if she copped that hit in the nose!

thanks for the support guys...we have looked at the data and the front wheels were off the ground in first and 2nd gear hence the sharp turn to the left when the tyre landed...4wd is a nightmare...

car will be fixed in 2 to 3 weeks.. rear damadge is easy to fix...if it would have hit the front the car would have been a complete mess..right off..

our next event is on the 18th of sept at willowbank pro street shootout...we will be back ..

with all the data from the weekend we are very happy...except for the crash..ha ha

cheers, mark

Mark - great to hear your ok and the car isnt damaged to badly. It looked rather nasty, and sounded that way as well, but as you say rear damage is an easy repair in the right hands

I guess i may be sarting a rumor but i am sure i over heard one of the HTL team talking about leaving the car here and testing in Sydney.... would be awesome to see these 2 cars go head to head at some point in time soon

Yeah its definitely staying, its over there to set the world record lower - that hasn't happened yet ;)

Also I believe they want to throw some street tyres on for lols and see if they can "adjust" that record as well while they have far stickier tracks to play with.

just got the log out of the car now...wheelspin and over rpm in 1st gear were the cause ...2nd gear went straight to 10500rpm on the shift... the axles are fine...

which basically means no slip in the clutch at all ..which softens the way the car gets down the track...

1.6 g impact into the wall at 50mph...oops..

car is being fixed this weekend should be finished next friday....

keep you guys posted...

Cool!

If there's any chance of advance notice of when it's going to be running some of us SAU guys could come up and watch :P

    • To back this up, I'm always looking on the outside, seeing the level, and then opening it up anyway, as I'm worried the level I've looked at, is more so a scunge line. Then you end up dipping your damn finger in it too depending on the type of tank you're looking at just to make sure I'm not going insane.   PS, Mark, polish up the none moroso one a bit and then give it a clear coat. The Moroso one looks to be way shiner (not mirror polished, just shinier) and it'll still look weird with the two different alloys beside each other. Either that, or Id probably paint them a flat black...
    • Good old Orange Park hey... 😛   f**k I miss that race track
    • lo, it was a death trap. Good times. Got any Fatz Drift Day DVDs still available?
    • Yes, overthinking. Many PS reserviors are completely opaque. Our Skyline ones, for example. Have to remove lid, peak inside, swirl the dipstick, try to remember how to read it, etc etc. Normal. Radiator overflows are often sufficiently opaque and scunged up that you can't see the true level inside anyway, and have to open and have a peak. Besides which, I replaced the (massively expensive, even back then) plastic overflow in my Alfa GTV, back in the '90s with a stainless one that I had a good fabricator make up to be dimensionally same-same, that looks remarkably similar to the Bogan's Moroso one above, and I never suffered any particular paranoia that I didn't know how much coolant was in it.
    • Looks great, but I'm always concerned that it makes it difficult to see what level the fluids are at. Am I overthinking this?
