Custom Glass Carbon Fibre R33 Projector Headlights Group Buy!

Recommended Posts

Been wondering when anyone's going to ever make aftermarket headlights for 33s lol. I'm in on this for sure.

Agreed with the 1 projector per headlight idea too, keeps the cost down and halogen is more practical with the existing high beam set-up on r33s (low beams turns off when high beams are activated).

will it be a problem flashing your headlights as when you flash the hi-beams the low be does turn off yeah?

is that bad for the lights being projector hid?

its illegal right to have the low beam stay on while the hi-beam is on, yes?

This group buy idea is making me hold fof on all other purchases for the 33 now you realise, until I know how much of my monthly mod budget will be taken up by this one...

Should we be looking at headlight protectors as well now?

since they would be glass, Id be worried about stones hitting my nice new glass lenses...

Personally I wouldn't worry about it to much, glass is pretty strong.

I'm in too, depending on price.

So will this be a changeover kinda deal with my stock headlights? coz the brackets and housing on my stockies are shagged that's why I'm interested in these.

Yeah we will have to send our headlights to them and they do the modifications and send them back. I'm in the same situation man, my drivers side headlight is screwed so will have to buy one to replace it prior to doing this.

I sent the guys an email with a link to this thread so they can read through every ones suggestions. I also sent some pics of S3 GTR headlights to work off as a basis.

I am only new to this forum as i just bought a R33 GTS-T S2 on the weekend.

Heres hoping that I can join in on this group-buy?

i have already started looking online for some replacements!

Interested in asking if they can make just the front plastic of the R34 headlights outta glass.. Would be interested in that depending price..

Wow... PM-R33, you are the man.

Not sure how many people I speak for but being an owner of a 1995 R33 GTR I have yellow headlights and I would be super happy if there was a direct replacement of the OEM plastic lens with a replacement glass lens!

UPDATE

Bit of news from Rich:

I assure you the final product will not be “try hard” Honda boy look. We have been asked to do Audi and BMW LED’s on the Supra lights but simply refuse too. We won’t manufacture something that we are not proud of. We are all about quality and attention to detail. All product is manufactured here in Australia. We don’t use any tacky e-bay techniques. The glass is cut and curved 1 lens at a time. The carbon fibre is made via vacuum infusion with high temp resins and UV protected gel coat. When we sell carbon fibre, we DON’T use fibreglass to make a more cost effective product, we make it properly. We even go to the trouble of importing our resin systems from France.

These are the Hella projectors that will be used:

As for the kits, there will be two options to choose from.

Kit 1: Carbon fibre bezel, Glass lens, HELLA Projector low beam, re-designed Parker lights, HELLA adjuster.

Kit 2: Carbon fibre bezel, Glass lens, HELLA Projector low beam, re-designed Parker lights, 6000k hid bulbs, HELLA ballasts, HELLA relay, HELLA adjuster.

The LED parker/indicator design is going to be the tricky part to create something unique that look aggressive. If any one has any designs/photoshops that they think will look good chuck them up.

Here's something that I quickly did up in Paint.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
