Could you take a photo of the seat rails from the drivers door? interested to see what happens near the tunnel as far as mounting goes or if they are just welded to the floorpan

You can see that here Jeff;

Fair enough, I think the Pro ADV's must have a bit more cushion in the bottom than some seats. We were nearly touching the roof when we blocked them up to sit where the stock mounts would place them.

The passenger side mounts (Targa one day!) are going to take a fair bit of work with the floor pan the way it is, but I'm sure we'll get there.

Cheers

Smallish update today.

Roll cage is moving along, main hoop diagonal, harness bars, transmission tunnel bar and most of the passengers side door bars are done

Chop chop!, seems this will be the only way to mount the passenger seat.

Some dodgy plumbing of the clutch and brake lines from the master cylinders. Not entirely happy, will probably end up doing them in braided stainless with some banjo fittings over the next month or two. Currently what you can see runs into some bulkhead fittings in the firewall.

Tim, we tried sitting the seat in with the sparco seat brackets and nothing seemed to work. Maybe I'm abnormally tall or something but every option seemed to warrant the need for cutting a hole in the roof so my head wouldn't hit :)

Obviously it's been done many times on this forum, has anyone here mounted a Sparco Pro ADV seat on sparco steel seat brackets before in an R32, if so I would love to know you height, and how you managed it.

Dont stop posting up these pics. I have to go through a lot of this and am appreciating the insights and issues you are having and how you solved them.

I have the same clutch pedal issue you have. I hope the Alloy welding you have done is going to be strong enough seeing the old pedal is a cast part.

My pedal cluster is a TILTON part. I hope the masters work out OK. I gave TILTON all my info in piston numbers, sizes, car weights etc etc for them to work out the master sizes. The cheif engineer at Tilton was very helpful

I had to chopthat out too, and weld in a new section in my car to get the front of the passengers seat low enough.

What is the advantage of new seat rails as opposed to using the factory mounts ?

Having recently seen a car where a tree impacted just behind the passenger seat, the tree truck pushed up the floor by a substantial amount. Had the tree impacted next to the passenger it wouldn't be hard to imagine that the seat would've been pushed up and the passengers head impacting the roof or cage. This design would no doubt reduce the chance of this happening.

Graham, the clutch pedal is Aluminium with a 3mm wall thickness, fully boxed.

I'd be slightly concerned if we had to modify the brake pedal like this (against regulations here anyhow). But I think the clutch pedal will never see anywhere near the force the brake pedal would. I'm very confident it will be up to the task mate.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
