Before everyone jumps down my throat, I have searched on here but couldn't find anything like the advice I'm chasing.

I have just brought a completely stock R33 GTS25T Auto Coupe and am looking to modify it. I am on the gold coast so looking for some advice and help from people.

Firstly I want to keep it Auto as it is all my Girlfriend can drive, secondly what is the best things to start with, I want to get a bit of pair out of it but also make it very reliable.

Are there any good performance workshops on the gold coast?? And also if anyone has any second hand parts and I mean anything let me know even body kits and interior parts.

Also chasing a headunit if anyone has a second hand one.

i am assuming you want more power, not more pair, LOL

secondly, you obviously didn't search very hard as there are millions of threads about modifications but i will tell you some anyway.

get a turbo back exhaust, raise the boost up to about 10psi (will need an aftermarket boost gauge to do this), either a better quality panel filter or a pod, and a front mount intercooler. that is pretty much all you can do without upgrading the ECU.

Yeah power sorry bud. Thanks for the advice.

Does anyone recommend a good workshop on the gold coast??

a lot of the stuff i have mentioned can be done by yourself and parts can be bought over the net for reasonably cheap.

for a boost controller i recommend a turbotech one from ebay. i ran one and never had any issues and they are nice and cheap ($37.50 delivered). for a boost gauge just go to your local auto parts store.

for a panel filter i'm pretty sure that the commodore k&n filter is the same as the skyline one, or if you go a pod you will need a pod adapter as well (to bolt the pod to the AFM).

exhaust: either go to a local exhaust shop or online from somewhere like justjap.com and fit it yourself. you can also get intercoolers from justjap as well

Sorry guys my younger brother is using my account, being a typical brother he won't listen to my advice and wanted to get second opinions from people on here.... Thanks for all the help.... Anyone with parts for sale let me know literally chasing pretty much everything.

Also he has just moved to the Gold Coast and I'm not familiar with anyone down there, any personal experiences with shops???

hes on the right track with a $37 boost controller. second hand r34 side mount intercooler, panel filter and exhaust. $1000 max

if this thing is a series 1.5 with series 2 ecu he is wasting his time.

how many $$$'s is the real question

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
