Ever come across some car on the net that made you uncontrollably giggle like a little school girl...?

I had that experience tonight at work. Was surfing along, quiet as at work... then BAM!w00t.gif

Rocky Auto S30 with dry carbon panels, a RB30D (yep, 3 litre, with a RB26 head, and 3 duel throat CARBS!)

Now, I've seen Rocky auto stuff featured before, but it hasn't done much for me in the past. Anyways, the car is currently FOR SALE for about 13 million JPY. So if any of you buggers picked up the new years lottery... buy this...NOW!thumbsup.gif

I mean, having to wait for one or two sets of lights.

Blows my commute out from 40 mins to 50 mins. Total bollocks.

Thats completely unreasonable. Id be writing letters if I were you.

1000km run-in service & dynotune on Friday.

Forged bottom end, ported head with Tomei cams, gt3076 highflow, S15 450cc injectors, chipped ecu + tuneable piggyback ---- what boost should I have it tuned to?

I believe the ATS Gt3076iw BB turbo losses efficiency around 21psi.

I'm thinking 18psi should be fine, allowing spikes to 20psi (if that happens).

Don't want to stress the engine tooooo much; might just settle for between 1.25-1.33bar I guess.

Ideally the tuner will just keep ramping it up until there is no return for the extra boost and then set it at the figure thats still giving benefit. Hope you get to keep the car although to be honest they are not cheap to run - I am spending $100 - $120 a week on petrol alone!

True. To keep costs down im thinking tho im best to say X-psi tune thanks. Yeh stuff it, I'll tell them tune between 1.25 & 1.3bar thanks very much, and go from there.

Most likely keeping it, biggest (only) worry is "suspicion of defect" by an over zealous Officer in which case id be reamed big time as I have stuff all stock parts & can't deal with the hassle of inspections while at Uni, associated costs, etc. Only been pulled over once in my ownership for a RBT but admittedly its on my mind a fair bit..... Just the What-If factor.

Dunno what system you have in your state but in NZ there is a Low Volume Vehicle Certificate with an inspection carried out by licensed inspectors (not the police). I just have to get driveshaft loops and then an inspection which costs $400 -$600 and then a certificate stating that all my mods are safe i.e. that the braking and suspension are suitable for (more than) the doubling of stock power, that the seats are properly secured in short that all non oem stuff is fit for the pupose. You also get a plate to go on the bulkhead and then just have to point out the plate and if necessary pull out the certificate if you ever get stopped by the cops.

Yep, we dont have anything like that. If the police pull you over they can send you to be inspected for suspicion of having modified the vehicle even if they know nothing. Read countless stories on SAU about guys having cops point out "Turbo timers" in their engine bays which are actually alarms, etc etc.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
