Guys,

I know some of you were hoping to see me get a Stagea 260RS, but at the end of the day it was going to be too hard. I ordered today a new XR6 Turbo.:flamed:

I expect delivery mid to end April.

Due to insurance problems (no one had ever heard of one) and my finance company not interested, I have decided that I would get my second choice.

I hope you all understand, but I would still like to join the club as I think this falcoon wil drift nicely:wassup:

I hope you all understand

Mal

why be sorry? nice choice...

i heard c&v's xr6t pulled a 10.9s with a APS phase 3 kit and slicks at drag combat today?

LoL, i was only today reading the amounts of trouble they are having with their XR6T's on the ford forums :) Most people were concerned with the paint imperfections. one blokes door only had primer on it - took it back to the dealer to get them to pay for it to be painted. The rest of the probs were only clunky diffs and stuff

Nice choice!! I can confirm that the c&v XR6T ran 10.9 yesterday. Could've gone quicker but they were ordered to back off or get kicked out. Best part of all, it was only an APS stage 2 kit (afaik) and the engine bay etc looked STOCK! There's no way a cop could defect you for it.

Ryan, It's an APS Phase 3 kit, without the APS top intake piping (for the more stock look, although the APS replacement part looks nearly dead stock too)

APS is actually working on a Phase 4 kit eek3.gif

So just to be clear, it's a stock XR6-Turbo with APS Phase 3 Kit and "modified" auto box.

Thanks for clearing that up Andrew :)

I didn't know much about it, just what I'd heard.

And benm, to further explain what Merli mentioned -- Cars that run below 10.99 seconds must meet ANDRA saftey requirements including a roll cage, etc etc. Both cars were full street cars with no rollcage and so forth, thus, they were told to back off and run slower than 10.99 seconds or they would no longer be allowed to race.

You big POOF!!!

Just kidding, at least one aussie car company has caught up with ten yo japaneese cars!

Massive potential from the standard 4 litre engine and big turbo!

Be sure to rice it up with jap parts!

Mind you the SUSpension will need some tweaking to even think about dorifto!

Dig the ricey blue instruments!

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I must say that the XR6T was my second choice, but I think I will still be very happy with it.

The only modding I am planning on doing is adjustable anti roll bars so I can get the drifto easier, I may also run a bleed valve for track days. I have been told that if I touch anything except for cosmetics I will void the warranty. The car has enough power for the daily driver I will mainly be using it for. I want to get into Aussie Legends for my racing fix :-)

When is the Next pizza night ?

Mal

Top choice 4DoorGTR, im envious to the back teeth!! Please post pics upon delivery!!

I know a bit about the XR6T and a bit about 2JZ engines (both large capacity straight sixes). After side-stepping the tough-to-crack black-box in Falcon is there as much modding potential for the Falcon as there is for the 2JZ?

From memory the quickest Supra in the country hasnt dipped into the 10s yet, and yet the XR6T has. Correct me if im wrong....

The attachment is what my XR6T would look like

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
