Hi, did a search but not much came up.

What are the widest rims I can run on an R34 GTR? Also, where is the best place to get guards rolled/pumped to accommodate fat tyres?

What is the legality of this and really fat rims in Victoria?

Lastly, do I need to use identical rims on all 4 corners to not confuse ATTESA or can I stagger them?

Thanks.

All depends on if your going 18 or 19 inch. Also what size tyres you want to fit.

I know for a fact you can go quite wide.

With legality, I think if they stick out past the guards then you can get done for it.

On gtr's you must not stagger otherwise problems with Altessa as far as I know.

Biggest you would go without worrying about modifying guards would be 18x10.5 with a maximum offset of +12. if you were to go 19's with the same width and offset you may get some rubbing on the inner guards on full lock depending on tyre size and width.

my wheels came off grant's r33 and are 18x10 +19. sat well on his car, if a teensy bit inside the guards. you can go bigger on r34.

also, atessa only shits brix if rolling diameters are diff f/r. you can stagger, but choose tyre profiles carefully. most cant be arsed with this, which is why they say run samesame all round

pics of same offset on 33r

I had 18x10 +19 AVS Model T5 with 275/35, fit easily however there's slight rubbing on inner guards when going into driveway.

Then I had 18x10 BBS LM with 285/30 RE55s, swapped the coilovers and ran lower, no rubbing at all.

For R34 GTR, you can run what Jack recommends, or hell, buy some of his rims!

Niroj, I never ran tri spokes, bought off a dude who had in his 33 GTR.

my bad

Jack's Sparco's look like awesome value for money, and would look hot on an R34 GTR

Cheers Shane... they are quite cheap since they're brand new...

I have too many sets of wheels to suit GT-R at the moment...6 to be exact....

Wheel whore??? I have a good excuse, I have 3 GT-R's....

Cheers, thanks for the replies.

Thinking of going the Volk TE37 Bronze 19 X 10.5" + 12, with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's in 285 or 295/35R19 . Smallest offset I could find for that rim on NENGUN. Where else is good to buy TE37s locally? I tried Importmonster's aussie store but they only have the rim in massive offsets.

I just bought a set of 19 x 10.5 +11 for my 34R. Should be fitting them next week but I would not personally go any bigger.

Would love to see pics plz. Let me know if any rubbing - cuz if there is I may have to go down a size/width. Stock suspension?

Thanks.

Try hawthorn tyrepower. They have the best display of rims and can get you whatever you like considering they own a 35r and amuse 370z.

I will be purchasing soonish a set of Te37 SL's 19x10.5 +12 for my 34r.

Te37's with an aggresive offest just look mean on a 34r.

As Nathan said above, I was there yesterday and they have heaps of TE37's to check out.

I was only going to go 285/30/19 but does anyone know if the 295/30/19 will be ok on a 10.5 wheel +11?

my car has only been lowered 30mm but I am a little concerned that the tyre will rub?

Thanks

Dave

Personally I would go the 285/30/19 instead of the 295's, they will more likely cause rubbing on full lock and the benefit of going 10mm wider on a street car is negligible as far as performance. Save your pennies or go a better quality tyre in 285 wide.

My 2c...

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
