I keep telling you fool!

That rear wheel, housing and gate combo Simon is running WORKS. It is the same rear wheel and housing you have, now get the gate to match! Tial MVR 44mm.

I'm fairly certain that battery also runs the game Tial 44mm MVR

yeah battery has mimmicked your setup part for part..but you are both running a t67 im not..I originally told scott to get the 44 as well now he want let me change my mind..lol

Im not running EBC so correct gate choice is more critical..but im probably over thinking it.. dont matter I will just get the MVR cause it comes with a spring pack and if its right , well I was right all along. But if its wrong I will just blame Scott... ;)

ed...Simon are you using the water cooling on the gate, if so which pipe did you run it off?

What spring and EBC u use.. Would love to know how well it holds boost without EBC..

that will be needed to be done anyway as it only comes with a 38mm ext gate fitting, modding it to take a 40 or 44mm gate isn't that difficult and should't cost much to do and will be something that i'll do with my setup.

however with that being said, i am very curious to see how Jez's setup turns out and looking forward to his results as he is using it with a 38mm gate.

im not just talking about welding a new flange off the ext pipe.

u need 2 cut into the manifold die grind all the shit out and weld new section in there.. anyone with a clue can do it..worth the money trust me.

Yeh i didn't intentionally copy simons setup, it just sort of happened... pretty sure simon runs the same EBC as me profec b II. I bought the gate and manifold together used for $1100 so not %100 sure on the spring but I think its 1 Bar..

On the subject of cheap manifolds I have had bad experiences in the past with the Stainless items they crack sooooo easy its just not worth the hassle and personally i wouldn't trust an ebay china gate either.

Don't worry about not running a EBC, just get a gate a few psi less than what you intend to run and then control the rest with a Turbotech $35 job. You will be surprised how well it works, I would run this if I didn't want switchable boost :)

Water cooling for the MVR, not running it... I don't see a need unless it's a full race car maybe. More of a gimmick

I use a 1bar spring and Profec B Spec II (only because I got it cheap second hand, I would rather a blitz dual solenoid)

Did some testing using the Profec B as a boost readout.

Loading it up to 3000rpm/80kph in 4th then going WOT I see 15 psi @ 3400 and then fullboost 20psi @ 3600.

Also had a misfire issue a while back and had to go from 0.8 gap to 0.5 which solved the problem.

So pretty much exactly the same as mine...

Funny how even on the same type of dyno on the same ramp rate mine appears so much lazier :pirate:

Sorry this is not related to Kando turbos but while your on the topic of wastegates..

Simon, what spring(s) do you have in your 44mm MVR and also; if ur ebc is set to 0% does it boost at the spring pressure till redline or does it creep up a little?

I bought a 1 bar 44mm tial and i hoping it lets my gt35 run 18psi and no more.. will be running poncams too if that means anything in terms of wastegate flow?

Im kinda scared that if it spikes or creeps past 20psi i will have to change the wastegate to a 50mm TS :( I guess we will have to see!

1bar spring... Holds 1 bar :)

Isn't what boost you want to run + rear housing size the main deciding factor with how to choose the gate size?

I dont think you can have too much gate?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

I dont think you can have too much gate?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

well i thìnk you could be wrong. Too much gate will release too much pressure upon opening and cause boost drop..if you have an EBC it will quickly compensate for this but if you dont the pressure is gone and wont come back till the gate closes again..

You need the correct size gate to release the correct amount of flow to maintain boost...which is why i was undecided between 40 and 44mm as I dont know how much power this turbo will make on stock mnifold.. Was presuming 260 to 280 but some are saying it will make quite a bit more..

Plus the 40mm gate is 330 the 44mm is 380 so Im with snozzle on price being a factor...but 44mm tial comes with 7 different springs so I will get that so i wont need an EBC

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
