I was looking at going the way dori34 has and while the sceptisim I came across scared me away, I'm impressed! What are the thoughts on the limits that sort of setup would have?

dori34, how much clearance have you got to the tower and engine mount?

as DORI33 stated a few pages back, his maxed out at around 300rwkw on stock manifold

Lots of space mate (i assume you mean gate mount?), if you want the same thing done and in Sydney/NSW, send BSA a pm. im sure he can organise shipping as well if you're interstate.

wtf our bays look almost identical dori, down to the way ive cut the standard heatsheilds, the matt black charge pipe and intake. only exception is for your gate pipe angle and coil pack colour. fwark even my user name is the same as urs.

haha freaky aye, put up pics of your engine bay & dyno sheet for comparison.

if we test and VCT still won't work then i will just hope the anti-surge front cover will :D

ID of wastegate pipe off the manifold is 44mm

Dori are u sure its a 44mm? The pipe Blake cut off the other day was around 38mm from memory. Ill measure it this arv

not the screamer pipe, the pipe off the manifold.

pretty sure he said it was 44mm? Blake would be able to confirm this.

the pipe he cut off is in my car btw, not at your garage lol

How does your haul on the road with foot flat dude? Hows the 'punch-in-seat' or kick / torque rush?

Seems like more of a Boostcruising question the way its worded.... The Dyno graph and video show exactly what its like, bolt one on and find out :P

Poor little kids trying to be cool..

Don't think you could describe either of them as 'poor little kids', unless you were referring to yourself?

Seriously though dude, you keep asking the same question over and over, "how's the torque kick". You keep getting the same response. I think it has been well established now that these Kando turbos are fun, and the Hypergear turbos are fun. Stop talking about how you're going to get a Kando and just get the damn turbo, how many more people do you want to tell you that they are good? Commitment issues...

Yesterday I SMS brainstormed with Jez about my own car. As usual, Jez sent simple responses. IE Kool. Sounds Good. Are you sure? Etc. Typical essay like responses common of the Jez-i.

By process of voicing my options I was able to get a brief second opinion and weigh up my options, enabling me to make my own decision. By the afternoon I ordered and paid for my Snow Performance WMI kit.

No I did not quickly conjur up the idea, nor did it come from Jez or someone else. I found what options I wanted to consider, talked facts and figures (kw/$$) and made a decision.

Rondofj, buy yourself some dignity and click 'commit to buy' on the turbo you want. You have already: thought (hard to believe IMHO)/voiced/planned/gained feedback/decided. Now BE A MEN and spend the TIRTEE FOR FIFTEE.

I vote that if Ron does not buy a Kando by the end of the week, we should ban him. :action-smiley-069:

Omg here he goes again with his typical essays which sometimes turn to trash... seriously did you ever get belted as a kid..??:domokun:

If that were an essay, I'd give it a solid B+. Nice intro followed through into a well written body, finished off with a 'slap-in-the-face' conclusion to drive home his point, that's good stuff. Lost some marks for spelling and grammar at the end there though :P

Sorry, I had to match the authenticity of a Curry/Gook based joke.

This post is not a troll

Seriously some of your posts do sound like coming from some 25 year old freckle faced kid whose grandparents got thrown off a convict ship ! !

25 year old. Grandparents got thrown off a convict ship. Scott, were your grandparents around in the 18th century to be thrown off a convict ship? They must have had children late if you are only 25!?

Ooooo, personal. Lucky I'm a 25 year old ethnic with no freckles.

Maybe that freckle faced kid's Grandparents (read ancestors) got 'thrown off' somewhere around the Philippines and have some thing to do with why your the way you are. Didn't they tell you about great uncle Stuart the bread thief? Apparently they 'loved him long time' ago.

Seriously dude, try to see the positive in my criticism. Hurry up and buy the damn turbo.

    • The trigger kit I have is similar to the one in the link below. While going through Facebook, I saw someone else mention a similar issue, and I’m starting to think this could be related to the crank gear itself. I understand these parts are CNC machined, but maybe some earlier versions or individual pieces might have slight inconsistencies—it just doesn’t look right in my case. https://www.facebook.com/share/16an8evZd9/?mibextid=wwXIfr I originally installed the crank gear using the thin OEM washer, but as shown in the attached photo, the timing belt walks very close to the edge. When I tried using a Nitto washer—which is thicker—it actually made the issue worse. The belt walks about 1mm off the front edge, which raises more concern about alignment.   I’ve gone through the full process of elimination:   The tensioner pulley and bolt are brand new and installed correctly. The bolt isn’t bent and is oriented properly. The back of the tensioner and the idler pulley are clean and seated correctly. The idler sits slightly more forward, which I understand is due to its design. I’ve experimented with both tight and loose belt tension, but it makes no difference. As soon as the engine runs, the belt immediately walks forward again—even if I reset it beforehand.     At this point, I’m considering replacing the crank gear with your Race Version 1 (12-tooth), but before purchasing, I wanted to ask:   Are you aware of any alignment issues when using this gear? Would this gear help keep the belt aligned correctly, or could the walking still occur? Does it work with a standard missing-tooth crank and rear washer? Is there any specific crank setup or install procedure required?     For reference, I’m not using a front washer, as the PRP crank gear seems to replace the need for one.   Looking forward to your advice.
    • Yep, looks that way. Never driven an E30 or R31 so I can only imagine
    • Yuh, My new R34 box is sitting on the workshop floor (in its large shipping box, which is a nice thing on its own), along with a front plate to convert to push clutch. There was no way I was interested in rebuilding my existing one. Was only partly interested in the risk of buying a used one. But, if you want a 2nd hander, I can point you to one in/near Melbourne at least. @Komdotkom has one that should be in good enough condition to be usable. I don't think it's in a for sale thread, you'd have to message him. @redzedhas one that definitely needs a rebuild.
    • I used to love going to Amaroo to watch the HQ series go for broke (eventually stopped due to lack of spare parts) and also the Porsche series.  It was so cool to back your car up to nearly the edge of the viewing barrier and party with your friends, having a bbq and alcoholic/non drinks. It was such a family/mates atmosphere
