If I had 5c to play with I would consider offering you something for one of those brake kits lol, yet I would say they are long out of my league. I still need to pick up a drum handbrake rear as it is, cant fit my R33 rears on yet.

So Roy you got an EWG TD05H-18g? If so very excited for you! Im confident that will impress you. STATUS has claimed an 8cm is worth 260 and a 10cm is worth 280kw, I would say the main thing holding them back is IWG, so sounds good!

Looks like it gave a good power curve but was falling off at 6000 rpm and seen full boost at 4200 maybe it was the gate setup going to miss revving to 8400 like on the 20 haha

Yeah I will see how it goes against the 20 sheet response should be simular between the sr and rb20 I only want around 230 base with 18 pound when are you seeing full boost in the Silvia

Edited by Bsa

full boost is around 36-3800 but remember that one is a high comp DE, it will bring it on a little earlier plus has minorly healthier cams

on a DET though ive seen then do 240 at the power your asking, i definitely think its the turbo for you man

That's was my car on ns and it's it was with internal wastegate

when I took it off it had barely no preload on the actuator So will maybe come on alil earlier

I bought another one the same one td05h18g will be on in about 1 month and will be on e85 and 22psi I'll let u guys know how I go

Yeh, I have a Greddy 8cm rear housing so will go straight onto my 6boost, external gate setup.

So will be interesting to see how it goes. If the numbers look pretty good it will make me more relaxed about putting the billet wheel in my 20G as I am concerned that despite makes claims the bigger billet wheel will make the 20G laggier. But time will tell.

If someone knows a good tuner who is happy to lend dyno time for the experiment. I have a TD05H-18G;8cm, TD06-20G;8cm, TD06-20G;10cm, T67-25G;8cm, T67-25G;10cm, TD06-25G;10cm and TD06-73HTA.

Would be cool to spend two days on the dyno and just bolt them all on-off and get some baseline tunes in to see merits of each setup. Truth is the 25G kits are all too big for the 20 so will stick with the 8cm housings and try TD05H-18G vs current 20G setup vs TD06-73HTA

On my TD06-20G i struggle to make any more power after 19-20psi. I am all for running whatever boost makes the most power but you may well find that whilst you may make a little more mid-torque with more boost, you wont be making any more top end irrespective of how much more boost you run

Dooooooood, if you want to sell that TD05H 3 bolt housing YOU MUST PM me.

Also, the guy will be jumping on with E85 so I highly doubt 20psi will be a boundary for him. More like 26 I would say, but well see.

I think that is the same one as I have. I dont know if it takes the 56.4/47.5mm turbine or 56.4/49mm turbine. I will know if it bolts together by this weekend when I get back to Melbourne and try to piece/bolt it all together. Worst case I may need to get the housing machined to take the larger exducer of the TD05H wheel if it is indeed a TD05 housing

The compressor inducter looks close to a 20g, which is 52.6mm and the turbine exducer you can see is 55mm which is the same as a TD06......

The core also looks like an MHI item and the rear housing is DEFINITELY 100% MHI

However, its anyones guess until you take the housings off and actually measure the inducer/exducer's with a caliper.

10cm rear housing with a bung and polished cover. Is it in Sydney? Does the blue Trust tag on the compressor cover been rubbed off where the housing was polished?

No UK. Where the trust tag was? Is a tag from where it was rebuilt just showing S/N and date I think? It's obviously been polished the cover yeah.

Thanks man. I was pretty sure it was a 10cm housing and a TD06 or equivalent. We'll see how it goes when it gets bolted on my RB25 eventually.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
