Gave the car some love today and did an oil change with Sugi 6000 (last bottle I had :( ) .

Will need to do a brake service very soon and get the rotors machined.

My safety inspection found my regular problem of a snapped rear swaybar Mount... :(

Time for Dales super duper ones. and might as well go for the heavy duty links as well.

hate to say it, but make sure the Grp A r32 is "owned" by someone else in your family (ie dad) other than yourself.

been through all this, does NOT end pretty.

A guy at work had one of those black ford coupes ( mad Max car, one of 20 black ones ) sold for less then $20k in his divorce. :O. Normal sale price closer to $100k in the same condition.

No probs with that...it is dads!....only when he meets with an accident will it be mine!

good work!!

now thats a problem that scared the sh1t out of me when it happened lol

I was unfortunately able to recognize/diagnose it within a second when it died this time >_< But the upside was that I wasn't concerned about a) not being unable to get it home or b) it being a costly fix.

Ok it's about time I put something in here that actuallly relates to the thread title

I've fitted a hypergear atr43ss-1, braided water lines, twin 3inch drift pipes, and searched all over my drivetrain looking for a loose bolt that would make my car vibrate constantly and surge at low speeds.

No probs with that...it is dads!....only when he meets with an accident will it be mine!

good, I was sure that was the case.

Ive been through what you are currently going thru, albeit mine was different in the sense that once I was put onto disability her true colours came out, refused to work, came into mortgage stress, relationship breakdown, ends with seperation. Actually pretty much started the downward spiral after the birth of our second child - ex had post natal depression & wouldnt do anything about it.. in the end anything she said was a) full of swear words to both me and the children, b) yelled everything at top of lungs. Got impossible to talk to her about anything without her going OFF her tree.

If she cant pull her butt plug out soon, then I suggest you both get some counselling if you both want to continue the relationship. Lest face it, sex is a form of communication. In my instance Ive ended up having to sell my house and giving her most the money left over after costs/owings, seeing the kids are with her for two thirds a week. She never put a cent into the house/fees/etc but being the mum gets to walk away with 50% more than myself.

On topic, my Stagea is with Boostworx being pulled down. Depending on the condition of cylinder#5 it'll be 86mm CP pistons, hopefully an overbore isnt needed.

water cooled? i dont think thats what it is

i know the block youre talking about. just steal one from an old oil filter :P

no i dont think you do..

theres a water line that goes into the oil plate.

i pulled it apart on scottys spar motor yesterday to have a look. it looks like a silicone orange crush gasket seal of some sort.

unless thats what your talking about?

    • I don't think the shuffle can damage the turbos. It only happens at low shaft speeds and loads. It's just annoying (to some people - others are tickled by the effect) and it quite possibly reduces spool performance a little bit.
    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?
    • Can u check this way it works for power supply?

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
