Thanks to my new best friends at DBA, I have a new set of DBA 4000 Clubspec T3 brake rotors on their way, and thanks to Jethro I've got an idea of where to get some decent braided lines from. Combine all that with some HPX pads and some decent brake fluid, and it should be a pretty decent braking package without having to worry about getting calipers engineered.

Haven't ordered anything yet, but it's good to know that there are options..

Anyone put an alloy radiator in an m35 yet?

If the top tank is cracked you will definitely know about it. The Oring seals the whole underside of the top tank and usually only weeps when warm, sometimes it sprays out from one side.

yeah I looked at the one they had taken out, about a 4 inch split (hairline) just above where the tank mounts to the rest of it

As above, Iain and Craig have chinese radiators in.

I have a custom Race radiators item and Scott has a Mishimoto radiator.

If you are going an eBay special like Craig and Iain, make sure you get a G35/V35 radiator and not one for a Z33 (350z).

They are not the same.

yup the radiator cap is in the wrong spot for the intake vent that sits over the radiator.

if wherever you get it from specifies both Z33 and G35/V35 in the description, make sure its the right one.

craig had ours moved, and the mount points - the cheapo ones are good quality but the mount points may be off a little

So the Mishimoto radiators mount up quick and easy?

from what i have read and/or seen only the VQ25 radiators are the same, the VQ35 ones are wider, but putting them into a VQ25's spot is no biggie. trim away and it will be fine.

i used a hacksaw blade

Well, they do fit in place.... sorta

I brought it in initially, but could not get it to fit without cutting a ton of the support away.

I sold it and got my unit made up.

Still had to trim the radiator support to fit mine, but at least the fan shroud fits straight on and it is a very, very nice unit :)

Fan shroud does not fit back on the Mishi unit.

yes/no

scott had to shave abit of the fibreglass rad support.. IIRC

yes.... quite a bit

Yep I think Iain is right, not much is going to fit without a bit of trimming.

Might see if I can get a Koyo (http://www.frsport.com/Koyo-V2588-36MM-Aluminum-Racing-Radiator-Infiniti-G35-Coupe---Sedan_p_15744.html) for a reasonable price..

And of course a trans cooler as well, because plenty of them say "suit auto", but I'm guessing that just means they'll fit, because none of the photos show them with the trans cooler stuff on them.

350z radiators have the cap on the wrong side.

It will foul with your intake funnel into the airbox.

I am led to believe that the pins at the bottom of the tank that slip into the support holes are located a little too far forward or back (can't remember) on the 350z radiators.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
