so does anyone know if the guy from the imports mag is a member on this forum?

i would like to quiz him about not wanting a gtr but wanting to put a gtr badge on the boot.

400kw and rear wheel drive must also be a hoot to drive (cant imagine it holding traction very long)

iu got a badge on a gtst but instead of the big red R is has a big red S looks pretty cool and yeh i have a gtr spolier on the gtst but has crabon fibre inserts whihc say nothing on them i think its looks pretty good

ill be leaving my gts4 looking like it does when i convert the baby to a RB26, haha the look on peoples faces will be priceless, GTR i would love but dont want the attention, sleeper FTW, hence the GTS4 ticks all my boxes. GTR in disguise.

a falcon is a falcon. gt is a stock falcon with a few upgraded parts.

a gtst is nothing like a gtr mechanicaly, different motor, different suspension, different drivetrain.

didnt mind the maroon car in hpi but i shook my head when i saw the gtr badge.

nothing is worse than seeing gts or gtst wankers reppin GTR badge.....kit add ons are ok

there is a black 33gtst gettin round hallam area with not only a GTR badge but Ferrari emblems on front quarters as well....

doesn't seem to only be nissans following this trend either

my point was that there are more gt's around now than when they were originally produced and they are made to look like something their not.....

not everyrone can afford the GTHO's so they try to buy a GT, but if you look at the market there are so many for sale...they cant all be real GT's

Production of the XY Falcon range totalled 118,666 vehicles. 1,557 XY Falcon GTs and 300 XY GT-HOs were built....but if you have ever been to a ford show or something there are hundreds of gt's...

your reply made me think. If i boought a GTS4 and turned it into a replica GTR as well as all the mechanical parts, body parts. what would you think if i put a GTR badge on it

agreed, GTR badges on a non GTR is not cool, you know all the holdens agoing round a with holden or ford stickers on the top of their windscreen to tell you what kind of car it is. i was thinking of putting a holden sticker on my HR31 GTS-R for shits and giggles for a night.

we were out at wisemans ferry a few weeks back with a R34 GTR and some yobos walked passed and we heard them oi check it out it must be the new holden R8, we were all sitting out the front of the pub and we all fell off our chairs in absolute laughter.

If you know the advan racing r33, from what I read before it's just a gts4 with full gtr bodywork and what not. It has a sunroof, no gtr's I've ever seen have come a sun roof.

When put up for sale it's advertised as a gtr, it doesn't matter if it has gtr everything it still isn't a gtr. Doing this is just as bad in my opinion

So I have an r34 gtt 4 door which has had the gtr front end conversion.! I bought it like this with the badge already on-it only has the front badge. I was undecided for ages about to leave or not-.,but I took it off, and it wasn't the same-just looked like something was missing!!it went back on again!!I know this isn't a gtr but i think a gtt badge in the same gtr fomat would probably look okay!! Cos a gtsr badge isn't true- a r34 Is either a gt or a gtt not a gts!

So for now il probably be one of those annoying "fakes"

    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
