DCIEVE
Thanks gents - chipping away at it slowly! That is a nice tight fit. Looks awesome sitting in there though. I have a 31 sitting next my 32 at home will have to take some measurements the fullrace mani is absolute porn. The mani is very nice but the finnishing in a few area's isn't to the standard I'd expect considering the asking price. Glad I got mine cheap! Trial fit of the fuel cell all done, the hole saw packed it in so I had to resort to the slow method (lots of small holes followed by a file!). Good times Cardboard is a template which will be made in steel to cover the old fuel tank access hole. Sir Lord Van Von Vader'ham
^ thats something i need to do had a look through your thread but i couldn’t see if you where planning on doing some circuit racing. if so, might the cell be in a bit of a dangerous spot or are you going to put some protection around it? + where did you get the diff mount from? great build man Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/352234-hr31-coupe-rb26-for-now/page/4/#findComment-6141493 Share on other sites
DCIEVE
Cheers James. Yeh the plan is club level stuff but keeping the rego while I don't have space for a trailer and dedicated tow car. Not sure about the cell location being an issue, I can't really see any difference which side of the floor it sits on from a rear impact point of view (other than fuel spilling on the ground rather than inside the boot if it were to split). I certainly think it's better than mounting it part way through the floor like most people have to do due to the spare tyre well (risk of slicing it in half in a rear hit). It will be covered on the underside if that's what you mean? DCIEVE
Brake master, clutch master & slave rebuilt plus some braided brake & clutch lines. Just need to give the booster a sand and coat of paint. Also grabbed some adjustable LCA's - I think originally godspeed but the welds have been ground back and professionally re-welded, they've also been machined to take off the shelf SKF bearings rather than the chinese bearings they came with. Rebuilt both wastegates with new diaphragms/springs etc and set them up with shortened speedflow fittings (without cutting them down they limited valve travel). Time to make some intercooler pipes and find someone to do the wastegate plumbing and new dump pipe. DCIEVE
Nice work Nick, got a rough ETA? Hopefully in the first quarter next year but we will see. I still need to find someone to build the engine, and that's assuming the new head hasn't been lost in transit somewhere Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/352234-hr31-coupe-rb26-for-now/page/4/#findComment-6152464 Share on other sites

Mocked up the new oil filter location Found homes for the rad breather tank, accusump and fpr.... the accumulator is friggin enormous! Also fitted up the plenum so it's ready for IC piping to be made. Getting closer! Shame it's not my engine And put the seats back in so we can fabricate a hardness bar Time for the fab work and hopefully some wiring. DCIEVE
From fatz stockpile of carbon bits + where did you get the diff mount from? great build man The diff mount was from z31parts but it failed in fairly dramatic fashion so I wouldn't recommend one. It was replaced with a solid mount..which reminds me I need to find solid alloy subframe bushes to replace the nolathane ones which allow the subframe to move too much.
