Team Raceworx Race Debut: State Champs Wakefield Park 13-14 March

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Here's your opportunity to witness the race debut of Team Raceworx, the GTR is finally going to be run in anger.

Its a 2 day meeting at Wakefield with all the usual suspects:

Combined Touring

Improved Production

Sports Sedans

HQs

Formula Ford

Formula V

AF2/Clubmans

As usual Saturday witll be qualifying and 1 race, sunday 2 races.

I'll post the schedule once I know it.

While you'll never get another chance to come to the debut meeting (:D ) the next one is at EC on 1-2 May, same date as the AGM, maybe everyone should drop by afterwards :)

Anyone else coming along?

Sadly no coverage of the state champs on TV, although there will be a special section in Motorsport news after each round.

The team's also entering Targa Tas (1 car) and NSW Dutton (2 cars) this year, there will be coverage of both, we'll keep you all posted :D

  • 2 weeks later...

well, the weekend......finished better than it started.

A little impatience at the start meant that Mark had a drive throught penalty on the first lap (ahh, so you have to wait until the light goes out!), and of course when doing the drive through he sped....meaning he copped a second drive through. Despite the fact teh GTR can nevah be beaten he came in last :)

Second race, started from 17th made a good start and was running 10th when they came to turn 8. A slightly overambitious move from a bommodore saw mark smacked off the track on a small cross country excursion! He recovered, rejoined and worked his way beack to 10th when an intercooler hose blew off...leading to retirement from the race. DNF

Third race, started from 17th (again), and proceeded to zoom through the field eventually running 4th on the 7th lap when the race was red flagged.

And, I can't wait to get my car out there :)

hi Duncan,

Good stuff with getting the GTR trackside. Just one thing, are you aware there is already a "team raceworx"? Simon Evans races for them (rally team). I was just looking for some info on your cars and typed "raceworx" into the search engine and got heaps of their stuff.

Hope it's not a problem mate.

Just thought I should let you know...

Richard

raceworx (no dramas with the rally team)

just wait till the silvia gets out there and shows these gtrs how its done

pete

phew! Cool, I'm yet to see a silvia race in Sydney (well on a circuit anyway).

Richard

lol, you've got the crazy bit right.

Thanks for mentioning the rally team Richard, but they forgot one small issue, registering the name :( We own it but have decided not to sue at this stage

our website is at www.teamraceworx.com, but its still an early draft

Also forgot to mention, keeping things rolling, Raceworx next meet is the HPI Drift Nationals at Calder Park next weekend.

A certain lunatic in a slivia is going down to show them how to do it :D

Next round at EC 1-2 May? Doesn't that clash with Fatz's Drift Day?

Do you guys have a timetable of events on both days? Just wondering which would be more interesting to goto...

nah the drift day clashes with the race round :P

Actually, Raceworx is going to be *very* spread out that weekend, coz our third car will be down competing at Targa Tas :D

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
