Rb 30

Rb 26 head

Methanol

88mm Precision turbo

power glide

Four link rear end

The Car has nitrous to spool the turbo on the start line but it wasnt used on friday night.

So a pro tree would be no problem

What car do you have Zebra?????

And you are obviously not a drag racer because it dosnt matter if its a pro tree or a normal tree the timers dont start till the wheel moves past the beam.

Looks great for a first time out.

Although the timers don't start untill the wheel moves past the beam, the race starts as soon as the light is green so the other guy would be long gone.

As it is it would really struggle in competition unless they have a creeper on the transbrake.

I'm sure with a little NOS that'll all be sorted and it'll be fine.

Awesome job for the first time out, looks like easy 7s.

Robbie.

It's a bit of a shit go to judge the car's startline performance on its first meeting...

just saying that it took a while and that it would be interesting to see how it goes...most real big power turbo cars struggle...which im sure you know.

What ever dick head...and who gives a f**k what car I have, I could have a Nitro Funny car for all it matters...and no shit the timers don't start until the front wheels leave the beams.....so go back to polishing your "race car" and f**k off!

Sounds nice.

Zubra, there is no need to be so aggressive and fling insults. Your first post appeared to be very judgemental on a car that has taken years to build and one that runs 8.3 on its maiden pass (to be the 2nd quickest Skyline in Aus, I believe?). The rest of your posts have gone downhill even further.

Why does almost every drag thread have to descend into such ignoramic unplesantries so quickly? At least wait until the car's second meet :D

Now, back on topic. Awesome performance from Alex in the Birrong Automotive R33. Does anyone know if the car had any damage on Friday? Look forward to its next meet.

No damage just a loose converter so the box will be pulled out and converter tightened.

Car will hopefully be back for the sport compac meet in 3 weeks.

My car should be out soon. I have put the 19 s back on it and ive been driving it around a bit but i will get back to the track soon!

lol nice one hero.

Who is the key board warrior???...threatening to fight me because I called you a dick head on the internet. Take a valium dude, you need it.

NXTIME - It may have sounded judgmental, but it wasnt meant to be.

Its not like I said "That car is a piece of shit it takes 10mins to get on the stall and i'll smash dream boats cause they called me a dickhead on a car forum here's my ph #"

So in hindsight I should have kept quiet so the little princesses don't get their knickers in a knot.

You got my number call me f**ker im in canbera a fair bit.

And yes you should keep yor mouth shut.

neh....ill just have a good chuckle at your big man status.

I will laugh even more if the 7 million spam ad mobs find your number and send you 11ty texts everyday

not bad at all! 8.3 is awesome for a first time out. hell it's awesome for the 100th time out...

i'm sure there will be plenty more to come. it probably will be a bit of a challenge off a pro tree but the easy way around that is get into the burnout as soon as poss, don't run it too deep so you can back it up quick and get it into stage before the other bloke. once he starts getting into stage then get it up on the stall and that should be plenty of time to have it building boost and have it up on the launch limiter ready to go.

but i'm sure he knows all that anyway. there's plenty of little games you can play to turn the advantage your way.

as far as the insults and threats on both sides. try and keep them to yourself. it just makes both of you look stupid and adds nothing to the forum and in the end all that happens is you get banned.

    • The HG high flow is excellent, and costs about the $$ you're talking about. But it, and probably every other highflow, uses a diffeent core than the original turo, and the original Hitatchi core is quite long. So, I think it is inevitable that there is likely no such thing as a highflow that just "bolts on" with no other effort required. And the same is likely true for HG's outright replacement "bolt on" turbos (the ATR things). And the same is likely true for anything similar from elsewhere. I have no idea if the cheap Chinese/Taiwanese complete turbos from eBay/Temu/etc are as bolt on as they claim. I mean, they claim the bolt onto the NAs as well as the turbos, and we know that can't be "bolt on". But it wouldn't matter because I'm not buying a $169 4 psi turbo for anything other than a paddock basher.
    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
